Assuming that we do not play again before next Saturday that will mean that 9 out of our last 12 games will be played at home. I’m not sure that has ever happened before.

If I were PW I’d move training from FC United to Marine for the rest of the season to get used to playing on a ploughed field.

I went to see for myself only a few areas were not perfect but playable!

A game of Football is played over the entire pitch - not just a section near the goal mouth.

I watched the second half of Bradford v Wycombe on TV on Wednesday and Valley Parade looked far worse than Holker Street did today. The difference, of course, being that the Bantams game was being televised

It does make you wonder if some of these Refs have ulterior motives?
With regard to our geographical location I wonder if he had a function that he had to attend tonight?
Remember it was our isolated location that led to many believing that that was one of the reasons why we were kicked out of the league in '72 - apparently some Refs had complained about having to travel here for mid-week games.

I feel sorry for the Bradford fans who traveled here today + those who have traveled from Dalton, Ulverston, etc etc

Bradford fans, why not go down a legal route? Sue the F**ker! Or EFL? For travel and ticket expenses + food. Why not?
It would set a precedent and teach some of these 'Idiot Referees' to think very carefully before postponing any more games in the future. FAN POWER!

So they knew there could be a problem in that area of the pitch.

I think the problem started a few weeks ago when the club shifted heaven and earth to get a game played (can't remember which one). I would think that was when the damage was done and it's built up since then.

No doubt a bad decision by today's ref - just hope the refs in the 8 home games which are now played close together will be a bit more lenient.

Teams have caught up with their games in hand now and a few results have gone in our favour. Massive game next week before a huge amount of home games.

You do know that they train very little in the goal area before KO so not to damage the surface?
About 10 - 15 min and the rest is away from the penalty area.

If if’s and ands were pots and pans then we might still not have a pot to pi$$ in and be still playing the wukkies on a proper cabbage patch. It is what it is inconvenient to many but we can live with it. Plus I might be off for the replay

That isn’t the club just today’s match official, how on earth have football games been played on surfaces without a blade of grass in sight.

Feel very sorry for the Bradford fans that travelled, very forgiving in their attitude to the news of the game being cancelled.

The whole pitch has been an issue, everyone can see how bad its cut up for weeks and weeks now. The WHOLE pitch needed rest but we decided to train on it to make a point to the EFL. That ok for u Nige?? or do u want me to write it in idiot so u understand??

If you think Holker St pitch is bad, have you seen Craven 'Cow Field' Park recently. 3 teams play their games and practice on it, making it extremely rough and muddy. Several players have turned their ankles.

Can see both sides of the argument.
Pitch hasn’t been great no, but as per all of todays arguments, there’s plenty more with the same issue, if not worse.
My initial reaction was why train on it, until it was apparent there was no real reason not to play today.
So yes, I’m sure there was an element of point proving in the decision, but I’m sure it was also a gesture to the fans, not to mention thinking of the fitness/warm up/downs of the players. They hardly went at it full pace for 90minutes.
