No he will probably have having a few beers before the game with mates and gone to enjoy the game. It’s not in his remit to look at players we employ other folk to do that. Having watched it myself the standard is woeful even the co commentator just said that to say the game has been scrappy is a massive understatement
I watched it on & off but like you say, the standard on display today was very poor. I have no doubt that it must’ve been better during the season though….nerves perhaps.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Aside from the fact Canavan isn’t a scout Scunthorpe’s best player wasn’t playing anyway. Few clubs will be in for the defender from Chester no doubt especially now they haven’t been promoted

I'm pretty sure that he has been to watch players (or future opposition perhaps) before when he was injured.
Harrison Burke i'm guessing you're on about - He won nearly every header yesterday - can't see him being at NLN level next season.

Niall Canavan played for Scunthorpe 154 times between 2009/2016 so was at the game supporting a former Club.

For me we are going to need 6+ players through the door and some loans
Another Keeper we all know that
If we can get back Whitfield and Smith I would be Happy with them two.
Could do with a couple of strikers really.
- Nick Haughton from Fylde wouldn't be a bad shout had a Excellent season in a crap team and based in Manchester.
- Ollie Pearce from York > sure there will be a few sniffing around him
- Zac Williams Midfielder at Crewe yet to agree terms, young and would be a good replacement for Gotts
- Andy Cook anyone??? can he cut it in League one at his age?

Given Cookys age and the size of him recovering from an ACL that he sustained at Holker st and rediscovering his past form might be beyond him IMO

Not even sure when he’ll be back training but I would 100% give him a years contract if he has a strong pre season

Yeah I meant if the opportunity came up. ie if Bradford wanted to let him go on a free transfer… not sayings it’s gonna happen just saying I would take a chance on his fitness as I believe he’s a top class player at this level.

Campbell apparently also off to Doncaster, not sure about Spence, but yeah guess we need to wait till the window "officially" opens after play offs are complete

Grant McCann obviously a good judge of a player. If he's a really good judge, he'll go for Spence as well!

If they are going to Doncaster why only sign Gotts now why not all three at once.
Supposed there is the gradual drip of news for their fans.

I'd be a bit surprised if it was Doncaster. My Doncaster contact says they have an abundance of defensive midfielders. They will urgently need to replace loanee Rob Street who got them 13 goals from signing in January. Now, that's someone we could do with 😳
Don't let the old man in.

I initially thought Spence was going to go to York if they'd been promoted (they've got money now and he nearly signed for them before he joined Halifax) - but now they've not come up that looks less likely.
Campbell;- Doncaster fans want them to go for Campbell - but whilst McCann has raved about Gotts in the past he's never really said anything about Campbell, so who knows on that one.
Lancashire;- born and bred
