I'm willing to give a hand, I filled in a form but due to illness and bereavement, things went a bit haywire. John

If it helps any of you out, it's looking like a week this Sunday which'll be the 10th Feb & probably from 9:00am onwards.

Good response so far & with a few who don't post on here that's around the ten/twelve figure. Still could do with the same amount again & I think we'd have it cracked in three or four hours so how about a few more volunteers? it's nothing really is it? just a few hours on a Sunday morning. If you can't help out with the graft, nip over to Asda for the workers & get the pies in!

If any of you have a trailer available that'd also help as we'll need a few runs to the tip, unless I can somehow get a skip company to give us one free of charge (working on that one )

This one's a total shot in the dark but.....has anyone, or do you know of anyone who could loan us a burner, gas & oxy bottles for the morning? some fairly large chunks of steel that we could get money off but theres no way we could get them to the weigh-in spot at the moment due to their size.

All of this obviously is weather dependent so we'll post more on it on the Fri & Sat before the 10th.

Hi Ian i dont post on here that often as i now live in kilmarnock, but i will be down in barrow this weekend.

i can supply you with a burning torch if you require one. will bring it with me when i travel down on fri.

forgot to mention can supply gauges as well.

will also chuck in some burners gloves and goggles. cannot supply the bottles though wont fit in the car. keep them

That's a great idea Ian. I spent 2 and a half hours today outside in a howling gale picking all the rubbish up from the terraces as it was blowing all over the pitch and a real eyesore. I spent the same amount of time yesterday in the pouring rain doing the same thing pitch side. The amount of rubbish just dropped on the floor is unbelievable. The only rubbish I couldn't pick up was trapped behind all the scrap metal etc and I thought about asking if we could do something about it.
Good shout if it comes off. Keep up the good work.

The area behind the goal is the worst area; its the first thing a lot of people see as they come into the ground and it just looks like a dumping ground

Guilty as charged. I must try harder but a few more bins wouldn't go amiss.

There are a lot of bins around, in fact more than I have seen at other grounds we visit---oh hell here I go. That will be me counting up everytime we go away now.
The trouble is people won't pick up and carry their litter on the way out.
On Tuesday I picked up 3/4 of a black bin bag of litter just from the pitch side of the walls. That included parts of dead birds too.!!!

Not sure but I've seen a few supporters flogging dead horses!

I've not forgot your request early on Dave & I looked around the other week & there really are more than enough bins to go around (like Elaine said) but perhaps not in the right places.
We're looking to space them out to where most supporters congregate i.e. HSE, pop side, by the cross bar & make them more "in peoples views" but in the end you could have one tied to every supporters left foot but if them people don't use them what can you do?
As you say Dave, people need to take a little responsibility themselves.

The jobs are piling up atm & we could really do with a few more people to help out because the work that needs doing, & being suggested is far more than we can take on & ever thought we'd get after only two months of starting up.
