Thanks THK,I generally do talk sense, think your giving it large in the Barrow arms reference is "stillthemans" banter. The Tomahawk Kid wrote:A good sensible post, Jo am back! Well done!Jo am back wrote: You dont get why, then i will explain. Its my belief that supporters who are prepared to take the time and pay there membership to a trust that is set up to support and in years to come maybe take over the ownership of the club once Mr Casson steps aside, should be recognised as people who care about the football club. Therefore i believe they should have priority on purchasing tickets in games were there is a possibility it could be a sell out. Its my belief that these people care more about the football club than the supporter who turns up once every five years when we draw a prestigious tie. Obviously you dont agree, thats your prerogative.I agree this game will allow everyone who wants to get in will get in,but you just never know what the future holds.
With regard to our future fixture with The Dale - are you aware of a documentary that was featured on TV a couple of years ago which focused on hooligan elements in the lower leagues? It featured Rochdale.
If you can dig it out, I think you'll find it interesting and amusing. Well...it made me laugh, anyway!

Can't believe the Marras are taking so much interest in US!mall wrote:The Tomahawk Kid wrote:It won't be a sell out. ALL REGULAR fans will get in, no worries. Rochdale will bring about 300-400 no more + 1,500 Bluebirds + floaters + neutrals
= around 2,300 attendance IMO.
We have a chance to make history! First time ever in the 4th round![/quote
2,300. I tend to be the eternal pessimist but still think there will be more than that.
Having said that, its worth taking a look at the Carlisel United forum-they are having a good and interesting debate on analysing our attendances and coming up with reasons as to why we seem to be struggling to get decent gates.

A topic/thread devoted to OUR forthcoming Cup-Tie! It must be bleak up there...
I didn't read all of the thread but noticed they refer to us as: Barra

Yes I meant to say last league side we knocked out away form home. It was the stat they kept mentioned on the TV on Sunday, just didn't realise it was Rochdale.JimmyCrabstick wrote:K_BFC wrote:I've just read somewhere that the last league side we put out of the FA Cup 50 years ago was Rochdale!![]()
1966 Rochdale 1-3 Barrow
...and again in...
1948 Rochdale 1-1 Barrow, replay Barrow 2-0 Rochdale
Think that's away in the cup. Don't forget we knocked Brentford out at HS.
The two times we've played them in the cup we've gone through .
Re: FA Cup 3rd Round Draw (Home to Rochdale)
This thing about it being 50 years since we last knocked a league team (Rochdale) out of the FA Cup away from home is kind of meaningless though, in that when we did that we were in the Football League ourselves. That's never mentioned when the commentators wheel out this particular stat.
Mind you, we should have beaten Bournemouth that time though (though in some ways it was probably good that we didn't, as it could well have detracted from that great run we went on soon after to reach the play-offs).

We should have 4,000 plus in for this game - it's a massive game who ever you play in round 3 and there will be plenty of hype / media ahead of the game
As for Carlisle talking about our attendances - who gives a shit
I'm a trust member but the trust is independent of Barrow AFC so don't see why any preference would be given to members re tickets

As Usual club not thought the ticket allocation through !
I thought the criteria was Season Ticket Holders, then Trust Members , then open sale, as it is now it`s a free for all!

Was a bit down that we did not draw that big club but am actually excited now for a well contested good game of footy to go to places unknown (4th round) to us.
Already got the travel plans down, just need to know when the game is before buying plane/train tickets.

Tickets were always on sale first to season ticket holders for a couple of days in advance of general sale.
We'll be having the reserved seaters complaining next.

Hardly a free for all is it.
I don't actually agree with this phone up and reserve nonsense though especially before any official announcement
Sell them for one day to ST holder then sell the rest.

I think the answer to that Charlie would be - the Trust do a lot of good work for the club & the community side of the club, just an easy way of the club thanking supporters for the cash they put into it through the Trust.Bingo wrote:I'm a trust member but the trust is independent of Barrow AFC so don't see why any preference would be given to members re tickets
It's also another incentive for people to join the Trust.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

It's a shame we don't have a properly functioning website, we could have made folk register electronically and then had their details on a database for future e-mailshots. It would have freed up the phones in the office too.boyliegladbach wrote: I don't actually agree with this phone up and reserve nonsense though especially before any official announcement

Some jokers on the Rochdale Hornets forum think they should be allocated 1000 tickets lol..
They think York brought 900 for the HS league game.

That post was an obvious wind up. Either that or he's seriously odd. Benefit of the doubt says the former.
Anyway, I'm sure Rochdale will bring as many as ticketing allows.
