Point still stands.

Zanzala is in fact a ‘False 9’ that is to say he cleverly pretends to be a striker thus providing opportunities for Kay or Gordon or someone who actually gives a sh1t to try and score a goal. Not to be confused with the ‘False Widow’ that big lass from Manhattans who cracks on that her husband has (Cont.Pg 94).Jim wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 10:05 am Zanzala is an enigma. He looks clumsy, ball control is poor and he misses chances. However, he appears to have scored a reasonable number of goals at Accrington and at Carlisle in the past. Also, if it is true that Carlisle offered him an extension of contract, they must have seen something in him.
He is 25, so reasonably experienced, so I am puzzled about why he looks so often like a novice. How long do we persist, hoping he will eventually come good?
A reasonable amount of goals at Accrington and Carlisle?
Yes, senior moment I am afraid. I misread appearances for goals!Sea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 2:43 pm
A reasonable amount of goals at Accrington and Carlisle?![]()
Your perception of a 'reasonable amount of goals' seems somewhat baffling.
Offrande 'Ozzy' Zanzala spent 3 seasons at Accrington where he scored 1 goal in 6 appearances on loan. 4 goals in 27 appearances in his first full season. Followed by 6 goals in 24 appearances the following season.
Arriving at Crew he scored 0 goals in 5 appearances for The Railway Men.
At Carlisle he scored 5 goals in 22 appearances.

Wintergreen, I've not been able to bring myself to look at this Forum these last two days after the desperate showing on Saturday. It's not so long ago that we put in a tremendous second-half showing to beat Newport, capped off with a fantastic strike from Josh Gordon. All was looking very promising at that stage. How did we slip from that sort of performance to what we witnessed on Saturday? Did the Newport game represent a false dawn? I don't recall the "False Widow" you mention, but might her name have been Dawn? Are "The False Widow" and "False Dawn" one and the same person? If we manage to work our way through to p.94 will the "False Widow" (or "False Dawn"?) complete your aborted tale by revealing all?Wintergreen wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 2:32 pm Zanzala is in fact a ‘False 9’ that is to say he cleverly pretends to be a striker thus providing opportunities for Kay or Gordon or someone who actually gives a sh1t to try and score a goal.
