Agreed they did. However when I looked on the main stand booking area on Friday it was almost full.

Were the slips mainly on the Popular side at the Holker Street End? I didn't notice many but I did see Rory Feely slip once when crossing. He slipped where the grass was a little cut up due to it being where the Sutton players had been warming up and firing shots in at the goal positioned near the corner flag before the game.

Not exclusively but mainly, yes, but that area is commonly used for warm-up shots.

It’s the middle of the school holidays, a good few could be away

3rd lowest attendance in league Grimsby took 2900 to notts country so really people on hols etc doesn't really wash it.
Only Harrogate and Salford lower than us

I dont think its anything to worry about, 'at the moment', though I personally did expect a couple of hundred more than we got for the first home game of the season given we had won away the week before.
There again, I suppose you could say there were mitigating circumstances in terms of the economy going down the pan which means people's disposable income is being eaten away month on month.

The club has made some excellent signings so far but I do think we still need to replace McClelland and Neal from last seasons team.
I'm sure PW is on the case.
A right side central defender in the McClelland mould is a must. I don't think Feeley is the answer in that position.
In central midfield we need a physical presence, as we saw when Sam Foley was introduced, that can drive the team forward as Neal did last season.
Finally I liked the look of Tiensia when he came on and again it was the physical presence that he brought down the left flank that gives him the edge over Newby in my opinion.
The overall signs are promising but there is room for improvement as I believe everyone at the football club knows and is looking to address.

Attendance for me was about what I expected; around 3000 home fans. The big difference maker is those games we get 1000 away fans in; our crowds would look pretty much spot on to our relative size in the league if only home attendances were published. Most clubs will have had a lot more away fans in than we did on Saturday

Struggled against 10 men. However, we played some good football at times. Our record signing Ged Garner missed 4 decent goal scoring opportunities - all of which would have put the game to bed if he'd taken them. God only knows how much we payed for him?

Because I can and I will... And being here and listening to the derogatory things being said, I find it appropriate to say otherwise! I'm proud of where I come from, I'm proud of who and what we are and I'm proud of the team.. I will always state that and I will always argue the toss with anyone who says otherwise about where I am from!

I fail to see why mentioning Carlisle in a thread devoted to Barrow v Sutton has any relevance? I doubt whether Carlisle care if we win, lose or draw? And vice versa. Forget about Carlisle.

Because if you’re a fan of football you watch other games, relevant to our level, and take an interest and you will develop an understanding of what other teams and players around are doing, or you have a have blinkered approach with no real appreciation of other players or performances and subsequently your expectations become unrealistic…that’s why SDS.
