What's a whizzer screw? Genuine question.

I don't know whether that's the proper name (think it is though) but they're what hold the cladding to the framework behind & have a socket type head instead of the usual sort of screw.
You can see them first hand at six tonight when you start firing them in if you want :)

Would that be a self-drilling fastener with a hexagonal head? Incidentally if the HSE cladding is proving somewhat fragile, would it be feasible to ‘double it up’ with another layer of sheeting fixed directly over the top of the existing one?

Anyone going down tonight, could you please move the paving slabs somewhere safe from kids as we don't want any falling on them on Saturday. I moved about 12 wheelbarrow loads of chippings today but the slabs were too much for me.
There's also two boards from the steward's cabin for the skip if you could do that please.

The paint tins from the stewards cabin were put in the skip despite being told we haven't to put paint tins in there so they are now sitting back on their doorstep!!!!! Sinkfall supply and empty the skip for free and we don't want to alienate them over paint tins.

Only me there tonight Elaine so no heavy work done
there were 50 signs up against the wall inside turnstile c so I took around 30 of them inside the workshop and stacked at the back.......

also 8 cladding sheets inside turnstile c and these need to go into the workshop also as preventing the turnstile operator getting in so thanks to who ever for getting them all round by the workshop....you will have to inform if these go in through the week or we,ll have to get a squad down to move them before the game Saturday.

Had half an hour trying to get turnstile c door sorted...pined the jambs but the door beyond repair...rotten at the bottom...need a joiner to fit new door and mortice lock asap....also took a template to make patches for the cladding holes on the crossbar gable end where the water is getting into the changing room

thanks to whoever painted the 4 half module boards....could they be done on both sides and edges to form protection from steamy changing room after consulting our joiners...also the 2 full boards on the tressels..2 coats both sides and edges please....managed to cut the module wood for these 4 halfs before I left.(pass message on Elaine to graham please)

Special thanks to assuming Exile as there was a lovely supply of coffee tea cups kettle etc and Ian Cerruthers popped in with a microwave and another kettle as we bed in for a long winter swilling tea and eating warm pies while others do the work!!!ha

I will help Exile to shift the boards today if he is there, otherwise I will do them on my own. He must have walked some miles yesterday trailing those down to the workshop as it was getting hotter and hotter.

Tommy started the plastering in the director's rooms yesterday and hopefully will get it all finished before Friday so I can get it cleaned ready for Saturday.

I didn't know there is tea and coffee in the workshop.
We need a little fridge/cooler for the milk!!!!!
Today I have to move the sand, clean the outside toilets and clean the clubhouse------long shift. Oh and the boards, anyone got a tent?

Elaine,

Tommy ( Barrowabc) and I have agreed to do a shift tomorrow (Thursday) as this works better for him.We can take a break from plastering to shift the paving stones and cladding then. Don't try on your own - I had a try yesterday and it was too much for me to tackle - two man job, at least , and much quicker and easier that way.

Pitch needs vacuuming though - seemed to be quite a few seagull feathers about.

I was picking them up by hand yesterday and Exile's wife (who is French) thinks that is eccentric. Nothing wrong with being fastidious.

Numbers have dropped off massively so we won't need many pies when the cold weather comes.

Although numbers have been dropping off lately (even amongst previous regulars) We're hoping this isn't a trend for the future months.

We've still plenty to be getting on with to get the ground up to where we all would like it to be, starting this Sunday morning again.

If you can help out with any of the following it'd be a great help to us if you can turn up for a few hours from 9:00am

Bad weather job's -

1/ Painting the first aid room - This has been dragging on for two months now & it's a bit shitty when the room has been done out to the standard it currently is but we can't actually finish it off with a few coats of paint (any weather job)

2/ Moving all the dance boards that are stored in the GMA to a more practical corner in there.

3/ Painting the backboards for the home changing room modules.

4/ Continuing the general tidy up of the workshop.

Fine weather job's -

1/ Whizzer screws being fastened into the top of the cladding, it's all marked up they just need firing in (only if it's fine)

2/ Moviing fencing to the GMA, removing empty paint tins, general tidy up of the ground.

3/ Continuing work in the turnstiles.

4/ If anyone is any good at replacing doors, turnstile "C" where we gain access is shot at, can't be fixed so we need a new one either making or we'll buy one but it'll need fitting.

5/ Help with removing scrap.

I really could do with knowing who (if anyone!!!) is available to help out on Sunday morning because it's just getting to the point where I can't be bothered dragging my arse out of bed if there's only going to be a couple there. That's not having a go at anyone but it's just pointless two or three people doing all this work when we have 800-1,000 people using the ground every other week.
I know mrssenorita is tied up for another three weeks on Sundays so that's going to make it even harder to progress anything at all.

PM's, reply on here or if you have my mobile number a text will do.

Ian, really buried with work and the wife's "To Do List" at the moment. Trying to get all my outside work completed before I lose the light and weather.
I don't have a bathroom at the moment, so need to get these finished before I come down.
Jobs have built up at home while I have been spending time at the ground.
I will be back, I know what I need to do.
