Quite right Elaine, he just gets on with it & because he doesn't post on here no one knows about him - he does a cracking job.

Myself & Mrssenorita were there for an hour tonight unloading some work tops & a vice, we had a quick tidy up of some bits & pieces that have been thrown around, we also made a start on the paint bay. One thing that had us puzzled though was a tool bag full of spanners, screwdriver's, wrench's & other tools, it was left on the bench - anyone know whose it is, or has it just been donated by someone?

We've just had an offer of six large plastic containers (1m x 1m x 1m) which will be used for retaining rain water, this will eventually be used for watering the pitch when needed. As the club are metered these will obviously save us a lot of money over the coming years.
Here's the tricky bit - we need to get these shifted from the Park Rd area of town during normal workday hours & back to the ground (hopefully this week) Has anyone got a decent sized van, or flat back that could help us out with transporting these back to HS?
Quite important that we get the containers before the owner gets shot of them.

Your not wrong there Ian. I met him at the club last week and spent an hour or so walking round whilst he pointed money saving ideas out.

The rainwater idea will save the club a fortune over the summer months, money that can be spent elsewhere.

Louis has kindly offered his services to replace the guttering behind the Pop Side as the metal channelling is corroding. This also needs doing so we can connect our water tanks up to the downpipes.

If anyone out there would like to donate or contribute towards 50 metres worth of plastic guttering, some downspout and associated connecters please get in touch, it would be very much appreciated. (A long shot, but if you don't ask....)

Whilst i was selling programmes on saturday by the ma door a fan told me that a toilet in the mens portable loos had been leaking for about 4/5 weeks now, seeing as we are on a water meter could someone possibly have a look at it.

I have turned the water off at the stop cock after the last game, i was going to have a look at it in sunday but was unable to get down. hope to have a look this sunday.

Transport is now sorted for the containers but we really need a couple of people to help unload & position them. should take no more than an hour - top's. Lot's of people will be working so can anyone who works nights help us out here?

If you are available I think it'd be best just to meet at the ground at about 2:00pm, although Frazer might have another suggestion.

Just a reminder about tomorrow morning.

As well as the job's we've already mentioned there's a nice quite job going in the GMA for someone, any age or sex - so no excuses there

All the ground advert boards that have been taken down need writing down & recording, this has been done once but there's been other boards added to the pile over the summer.
The reason is, we're in the process of contacting all the companies or people who have a board to find out if they're renewing, late but not our fault!

So a small job for a few hours but could be very valuable one in cash terms to the club.

9:00 am onwards & plenty to do.

Pretty decent morning at the ground today & a decent turn-out although no new faces which would've been nice.

Big Al set about the HSE cladding again. There are now enough whizzer screws holding that together that if a strong enough wind came in off Walney the cladding would go but it'd take the terracing with it!

Elaine was busy talki....I mean cleaning the corridor & away directors rooms under the main stand. *I think she was also doing a little flirting with Whitty 1969 unless it was the other way around, either way their chat up lines are shit!!

John Mackay was putting the final coat of paint on in the first aid room which makes it easier for Klaus Moogintaal to complete as he only has to do the window frames & skirting boards.

Pete was hunting down any litter he could find which even included the car park behind the pop side!! he also wants his area to now include Wilkie Rd, that's Wilkie Rd OUTSIDE the ground. If you live anywhere near Holker St, don't be alarmed if you see a man in your garden/backyard picking up rubbish, just offer him a brew.

Ian (red van joiner) came down & gave us a transformer, circular saw & 9 inch grinder, three really great items to add to our tool box. He also wants to be involved in helping out with the home changing room when it'll be one mad rush to get everything completed in one go so having a joiner on hand will be a great help.
The players will one week be in what it is now & the next time they have a home game it'll be transformed. (with thanks to the NSC's £1,000 donation)

Whitty (the 1969 one) & his Daughter sorted out something for Elaine, not sure what but it involved giggling (see above *) Then fixed one of the lights in the changing room, he also had a look at what we're going to be needing shortly in the GMA.

Mike Forsyth popped out to get a new lock for the big gates on the pop side as the old one just kept opening (basic flaw with a "lock" )
He was also doing some sort of circus act impersionation with a set of ladders in the main stand - looked a sickly shade of pale when he came back though

Mrssenorita sorted out what we think is the cause of the home changing rooms flooding which was possibly three holes in the corrugated panels by the new path, time will tell on that one. Cracking job though.
He also made us a charging station for all the batteries we now have for the power tools.

I was doing a bit of tidying in the GMA & putting up new shelving, this needec doing as the amount of tools we now have is quite amazing & we were struggling to actually find what we needed for jobs. It looks a lot tidier & organised in there now.

Frazer & Ian (RVJ) have distributed all the new water conatiners around the ground which we'll be looking at plumbing in over the coming months, we'll also make them look a bit more of a fixture than they are now by leveling them up & perhaps some sort of boxing in on them.

All in all a nice morning down there.

We're now recruiting for the next visit, book early to avoid being dissapointed & the crush

Good enjoyable session this morning from a hardy bunch of volunteers..good banter and plenty going on
The good news is that we have had a 9 inch grinder, circular saw and transformer..all 110 volt donated by Ian Curruthers so many thanks Ian.
Mike Forsyth got the herras fencing put up across vaughans car park which will enable us to cut the footings inside our own boundary and provide extra security when the hi ab arrives to move the cabin to the popular side for the new bdf shop.
Ian continued to sort the workshop out erecting new tool shelves, we managed to make a charging station so 4 battery drills can be charged by the flick of one switch now. I got the 3 patches done and sealed to the crossbar end cladded gable which hopefully will stop flooding in the changing room. John McKay completed the painting of the first aid room to a high standard and Al Robertson put top and edge fixings on the holker end sheeting as winter approaches. Elaine and a few others carried out general waste tidying in readiness for the next home games for all age groups and the first team. young whitty turned up and fixed some lights somewhere and we discussed lighting the crossbar rpath and incorporating an outside plug so we can carry out work down that end of the ground without opening the tunnel doors.

Ian and I now have the materials to fabricate the segregation sockets for the portable segregation in the holker end however with the stockport game coming at short notice, the old segregation back in place for the game. The new segregation however will be a new idea that should enhance security and appearance
jonty has informed us he cannot commit for a while due to new work ..so many thanks for your time and efforts. cant help thinking you should get involved in the new working party constitution as you came up with some great ideas and projects..so again, thank you
