Can't comment on the above but I do recollect Goole visiting Holker Street in the FA Cup - early 70s (Football League days). I remember The Barrow Boot Boys providing them with a warm welcome...

Worst ground visited? Either Frickley (FA Trophy) or Bolton Wanderer's old stadium Burnden Park (FA Cup).

The Goole game at Holker Street you refer to was in our early NPL days. Ron Yeats was manager, Pip Kean got sent off and we lost. Seem to remember the Goole keeper having a meeting with a building brick.

No you don't. That game was in 1976, when we were in the NPL.

We did play them away in the FA Cup when we were in the Football League, in 1968-69.
