I don't think they had a special shirt for the final. I think the final shirt was the same that had been worn all 89/90 . That shirt with the shiny material and the diamond stitching must be for following season - 90/91, but not sure. Would need someone to confirm.
anyway- worth a timely reminder of a great day, great team and a great manager- Happy Days. 25 years ago. unbelievable
two things-
1- Look at the width we had with Higgins getting down the line- and the service- to get three headers in a game- would not see that these days. The game is not played like this anymore
2- Red numbers on the shirt, forgot about that!

"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Confession time .... T'was I that was tasked to sort that out . The Ref wouldn't allow a blank. Due to some over sight ( no! ) Rowes shirt was AWOL. I was given the shirt and a not so permanent marker. It was number 22 if I remember correctly. Fortunately he got subbed just as the number was succumbing to the Barrow rain!Wintergreen wrote:What about a run of the iconic Dominic Rowe 'Remploy' shirt with the number 28 in huge black felt tip letters?
Just a thought whilst we're brainstorming.
I could write a book. B.P.
There is a genuine 1990 Trophy shirt and shorts somewhere in the club.... I remember seeing them.

There was a special shirt for the final, and the one in the picture on here is it. There was a very similar one for the following season that had FA Trophy winners under the badge. If you look at other pictures from throughout the 89/90 season the team wore a mix match of shirts, some were Umbro, some were Spall and some had no make on the shirt at all. It was only the final where all the shirts matched.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
