All the points on here are more or less what most fans feel but to get things moving it needs more than just being wrote about.

Please correct me if i`m wrong, we have a trust,surely that`s the way forward,the trust is the fans "voice" all the views should be put to the trust and then when the trust have their rep on the board this person can then "constructively" put the fans concerns to them and then get a response which can then be relayed to the trust members only then will we get anywhere and believe it or not(a former member of this forum) i get as frustrated as you!

Until we change these threads will keep popping up and all you get is a slanging match!

a former member of this forum, fathers day is one thing I missed off my list. Big opportunity, like the rugby have done.

I know this topic has been done to death blue nige, but I was just voicing my thoughts, you never know someone may look and wake up and realise we are not reaching our full potential.

I think you are a little wrong in that respect, as you asked. Poor Pete finds himself in two 'official' roles (and being a fan making it three) with being on the BOD and also on the committee of the Trust. I think sometimes the lines are getting blurred and that isn't a criticism of Pete.
Any concerns of the fans should not be reliant on the assessment and review of the Trust. By all means the Trust should have as much say as everyone else (because they are fans) but they shouldn't, IMO, have more than everyone else. I don't think the Trust should have access to information, or responses back from the BOD any sooner, or in more detail, than every other fan. It is that sort of situation that ends up making the Trust seem like the chosen elite by all the fans who don't want to be a part of it...and that is wrong.

I would say that the correct way, during these newly formative years/seasons, would be for a higher profile system of contacting and getting a response back from the club officially. This should certainly involve a much more frequent and accurate updating of the official site. It is a definite shortcoming, and any defensiveness without acceptance of the wider opinion will only create division before we have a real chance of getting it right from a clean slate perspective.

This is exactly what I am on about.

People on here just seem to blindly defend the club because they used to the same under the old regime. Sad to see really

BST Aims & Objectives

1.Being democratic and representative voice of the supporters of the Club and strengthen the bonds between the Club and the communities which it serves;
2.Achieving the greatest possible supporter and community influence in the running and ownership of the Club;
3.Promoting responsible and constructive community engagement by present and future members of the communities served by the Club and encouraging the Club to do the same;
4.Operating democratically, fairly, sustainably, transparently and with financial responsibility and encouraging the Club to do the same;
5.Being positive, inclusive and representative organisation, open and accessible to all supporters of the Club regardless of their age, income, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexuality or religious or moral belief.
6.To encourage and support the efforts of the board of directors of the club in their efforts to promote awareness and interest in the Club both throughout the community and within local business.

I was only suggesting the trust because they are the fans avenue to the board and with a representative on the board how much higher profile can you get than that? fans can put themselves up for election onto the trust board so how would they be a "chosen elite"?
we need to have an avenue to the club o.k. individuals can go their own way but surely you will get a better response by doing this in a more structured approach i.e. the trust.

It doesn't need the trust to express the fans concerns in this respect it's obvious the commercial side is fairly poor

Id give my right arm for a job like that

This is the Commercial Managers area of concern. It shouldnt be a concern never mind the fans concern.

No offence to Pete, but I don't think a BOD member should be the trusts board rep, is this not a conflict in a way.

Right, if this subject is boring to you don't read this. Just having a look this morning at a website and these are the things they have available for club merchandise. Lot of it wouldn't be worth doing at Barrow I know but just shows the scope out there:-

Bags, jewellery, hip flasks, keyrings/trolley tokens, car mini kits, car stickers, car air fresheners, phone cases, mouse mats, xbox/ps controller skins, laptop cases, headphones, wallets, towels, framed prints, autograph books, stationery sets, water bottles, tea towels, money boxes, fridge magnets, magnetic street signs, cushions, slippers, xmas tree decorations, baby wear, mugs, glasses, thermo mugs, aprons, etc etc etc. The choice is endless.

Regards to the prints, I know we had canvases recently, but i'm sure the club has access to many prints that could be framed.

Why should that be a conflict? Being a director, Pete is allowed into board meetings to pass fan concerns onto the rest of the directors - whereas if he wasn't a director he wouldn't be allowed access to these meetings and then we'd have people saying it's a "closed shop" and the board don't want him to hear certain things. Can't win can they?

I don't think anyone "blindly" defends the club, it's glaringly obvious that some area's need to improve......perhaps it's just some don't need to point out every single mistake/downfall of the club because either you or one or two others are happy to repeat yourselves to death over it.

Here's a few suggestions - put yourself up for election at the upcoming Trust AGM, or if you can't be arsed doing something as positive as that, approach PC next time he's here and pass over your concerns to him in person, ask Pete officially to bring your questions up at the next board meeting rather than just snipe on here.

BTW, I think a lot of points raised by yourself & others are very valid, but by just posting the same things over & over again sort of proves the point that by simply doing that it's achieving nothing - hence the suggestions above.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
