Bath at home- dear me that was bad- they were bottom of the league! Everyone in the ground sensed tough times ahead. Crowds were dropping off.

Season defining cup tie -

1-1 with Macclesfield second round 2012-13 season. Richie Baker (I think it was Baker) agonisingly putting the ball over the bar from inside the six yard box which would have put us in the lead. £27k prize money at a time when we were on the bones. They beat us in the replay and then drew a home tie against Cardiff (and won that), then losing to Wigan in 4th round.

Meanwhile for us- Hard times were on the way.

If we lose this one- yes well be very disappointed but we are still in a far better place than when we played those Bath and Macclesfield games

I would be quite happy JUST to see some decent football at home,pick a settled team and stop picking players to keep them happy,win or lose at fylde we cannot hide from the fact our management team have recruited badly and cannot seem to be able to get any consistancy.

Everyone apart from edmo can see we need a dominant figure in midfield and a new striker!

We should be showing how much we have come on since last season. This is the closest game we have to a derby at the moment and there is a lot riding on it with it being a cup game. We have a point to prove and another cup loss at the first hurdle will be devestating.

If you feel anything less than devestation in the event that we lose then there is something wrong Dingham.

An away tie to a side that is top of the league below and on form is always going to be tricky whoever it is. The fact that it is Fylde just adds a bit more spice. Just have to hope for a Tranmere performance and not a Bromley one

At their place Fylde were defending for their lives in the 2nd half, it was off the line numerous times, we even had a legit goal ruled out as offside. It was a bit more comfortable for them at Holker St but even then their keeper kept them in it, ours let a shot straight at him into the net. Ours keeper McMillan pretty much lost his spot after that, eventually Taylor took over for the rest of the season.

Guessing you weren't at the game, or you witnessed another game that none of us were invited to?

I don't think it will be season defining - that implies a mid-table league finish is rendered a good or bad season by our performance in the qualifying rounds of a cup - but a poor result could put a bit of a spanner in the works for a few weeks.

It'll be more embarrassing than devastating, however it's worth remembering that Fylde will have a similar budget to some of the teams in our own division and should be regarded as being about on a par with them.

To me Saturday's match at Fylde will send out a clear message as to how far our club has come since getting promoted into the National League.

With the money we've spent on bringing players in over the summer and the move to full time football to me anything short of a victory is really unacceptable A draw I could just about live with but if I were Paul Casson and we lose I can't see how he can continue to support the current managerial set up. I'm not suggesting if the worse happens on Saturday anyone should lose their job but at the very least someone should be brought in to help out with the coaching side of things.

If we win and win well, I think Darren Edmondson will be able to quite rightly show that this club is moving in the right direction under his stewardship but a defeat especially a heavy one, would put him in a very difficult position.

In the mid-eighties Alex Ferguson turned things round with a vital cup win at Nottingham Forest. We all know what he went on to achieve in the game hopefully Darren Edmondson will carry off a similar feat this weekend.
