In the unlikely event that Forest let Ryan go, I'm sure he would come to Barrow like a shot. I would imagine the lad is learning more about the game in Barrow's first team than Forest's academy / reserve team, but perhaps he could also be picking up bad habits and there might come a time soon when his parent club have him back full time for fine tuning.

Whatever happens, he has been like a breath of fresh air and I hope he goes on to fulfill his potential at the highest level.

so which Premier League team is watching Diarra then Mr Know it all?
and if Willliams wants to sing for Fleetwood for £125,000 he must have some voice....
also the past tense of sing is sang not singed

So a team's been "looking" at our players. Anybody can come up with that.

I can 100% confirm that Leeds won't sign Bennett, and no PL team is signing Diarra. Williams to Fleetwood is plausible, and that fee would be appropriate, but let's be honest, that's just something you've heard in the pub.
And I fail to see how interest in our players means that we are strapped for cash!

Give over, We turned down 100K for Williams earlier in the season....... Are we really going to be the team that let someone go cheap to Fleetwood then they bag a cool million a few weeks later when they sell him on?

Don't think so

For info, at present Yates loan spell ends on 9th January so we'll see in the New Year what happens after that, at least we have him for the Rochdale game - assuming it isn't postponed!

I have read some strange things on this forum and written some of it myself but my bullshit detector is going full blast on this thread

The line between wind-up accounts and the real thing is more blurred than ever.

I don't think Anderton was as outstanding or noticeable as what Yates has been this season as he's been one of our best players so far this season and at a higher level than Anderton who also suffered a bad injury. I'm sure Forest will be aware of Yates progress and it would be interesting to see what happens when his loan period ends - unsure when that is? With the way he's been playing and the number of scouts watching our games the fact he's been doing well won't only have been noticed by ourselves and Forest.
That's all down to opinion at the moment. From the matches I've seen (although I've seen more with Anderton playing than Yates), I'd say that Anderton is a better footballer than Yates. I can see both of them being successful at Division 2 level or even, possibly, Division 1 but no higher than that.

Happened with Grant Holt.

Both young lads especially Yates who is in the thick of the action at such a young age, Impossible to tell where either will be in a few years time.

Ryan's a Kiwi isn't he? Could be a full international in a few years playing in W C Qualifiers etc or could end up just a very good lower league player, time will tell.

We were a very different club back then.

I'm guessing, may be wrong, that Ryan Yates has exceeded the number of loan extensions for the season and would have to return to Forest in a few weeks. Might it be worth trying to sign him permanently given that he is currently a long way from first team action at Forest. Just a thought.
Undisclosed but the feeling on the Pompey forum is that it will be a nominal fee. One comment was that they will probably have got enough to pay Gary Robert's wage for a week although they are all hoping there is a sell-on clause just in case he becomes a decent player!
