Well, which ever way you cut it,the cold hard facts are that there is bugger all that has happened on the ground to make it a better experience for spectators from toilets- to covered accomodation on holker street end-to the floodlights that are absolute crap.
Nothing has happened and I dont think its ever likely to,but hey,I for one aint gonna worry about it,we can go down to any league you care to mention and I'll still be there.

Yes he did, i am starting to wish he hadnt bought the club and we could have carried on the way we were, getting more and more in dept, infact we would probably be in holkers league by now if he hadn't come sticking his yankee nose in,eh !

I think the debt/club cost PC £600k + tax + VAT. Had we continued under the old regime we would be looking at a million pound dept by now if the club still existed. To be honest I was thinking more of the playing staff situation right now and our bid for promotion; this is an opportunity which has never come our way before so I was waiting for something like a show of strength and a Gettysburg type address.
Paul Cox was really strident in his post Gateshead interview on the radio, I think he knows we have to show our hand now as we turn the corner and head for the home straight. We got into the Conference National ahead of schedule and we have done okay, so maybe we could get into League 2 and do the same.
My message to the PCs - be bold!

If you'd have offered me where we are now, and the results we've so far had,...if you'd offered this at the start of this season, I'd have bitten your hand off and said thank you.

And don't forget, still got all the other top 5 clubs to play at home yet.

I think this coming week will cement Barrow AFC's future.
According to the EM Paul Cox will be sitting down with Paul Casson to discuss the arrival of new players he needs to enable our promotion objective. If Casson declines, we could be seeing the exit of Paul Cox. And possibly, the end of our 'Dream'.
If Casson agrees...we could be celebrating promotion at the end of the season! I think the ground improvements will follow.
A LOT depends on those forthcoming discussions...

Maybe the outcome of Sat may also be a factor? Win Sat and we are almost guaranteed a glamour tie and all the financial reward that will encompass, lose and we will have Matlock and a crowd of 850 to look forward to............interesting couple of weeks coming up for us. Does Casson stick or twist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the seeds will be sown before Saturday. If the team runs out with clenched teeth and well up for a fight on Saturday, we'll know our owner has agreed to the arrival of new players. If their heads are hung...maybe some dark days are ahead...

Agree with this really. I look at Altrincham or Telford, both struggling with little cash towards the bottom of the Conf North, and think that we were going that way before Casson.
However, I share the growing concerns with the slow development off the club off the pitch. In the long term, the only way to financial sustainability for a club like Barrow is to get ourselves a good quality ground, either through redevelopment of Holker Street, or building a new one. This will help us maximize attendances, other forms of match-day revenue and non-football revenue, as well as reducing ongoing maintenance costs. I'm sure that such a process is much harder than Casson might have imagined when he took over, but the longer this goes on the more worried I'll become that he's settled into a "get promotion and subsidize the club" model which one day, whether in 5, 10, 15 or 20 years time, has to fall, unless he has a magic money tree.
So for now - I'm in the all is good camp, but we do at some point need action on the ground front.
