Thats a relief, only in temporary charge but if he does well over the next few games they should give it him!

I think this coming week will cement Paul Cox's future career, one way or another. According to the EM he will be sitting down with Paul Casson to discuss the arrival of new players he needs to enable our promotion objective. If Casson declines, we could be seeing the exit of Paul Cox. If Casson agrees...we could be celebrating promotion at the end of the season!

Smith only appointed as caretaker. New owner looking to appoint somebody with proven lower league experience, which would surely rule Cox out as his managerial achievements are all in non-league:

Who would want a five-figure weekly wage and the prospect of a pay-out when your contract is terminated? Can't imagine anyone would...

Gary Rowett favourite for Hull job. Bayliss was top of the list for Rochdale whilst with us wasn't he?

In that case, I think he'd be the first non-league manager in history to be appointed as manager of a Premier League club! Very, very, very long odds against!!

Much more likely to take over from Southgate as England boss

I imagine he's going to get linked with a lot of jobs in the lower leagues but as long as we keep him happy I'm sure he'll stay. He seems to be just the right manager for our club at this time but that doesn't necessarily mean he would do as well elsewhere. Different expectations, club structures, budgets etc. He's doing well for us, let's be happy with that.

IF we beat Dale, that's when they really will come sniffing around.
