Why move to Manchester when you were going to a club who would not back you with decent transfer signings plus the fact he had watched Barrow and it doesn't take a football genius to work out what we needed and I still don't get the Yusseff situation scores a hatrick then frozen out!
Same reason Cox went to Guisley needed a income.
Dole money or a wage?
Not a fan of Dixon ,where is he now ?but think he could have spent the money on a decent midfielder.
The supposed Grant Holt football connections to bring in players has not worked, another sound bite.

I also agree, He’s had backing, he’s had time, he’s brought his own man in, but you have to say Pennock has not been able to halt the slide.
Meh. You can say he's had backing, but of the players who he's brought in (Arnold, Cook, McDonald, Walters, James, James, Holt, Waterston), most are loan signings, ones a young local lad and then Holt. Not as if he's been allowed to splash any cash, despite what I imagine would be cumulatively big wages going in the way of Harrison, Yussuff, Harvey and Hughes.

In terms of players good enough for this level and this type of relegation fight, just for the starting XI we're short of a right back, a centre back, two wingers and a striker, and that's before you even think about subs, squad depth, changing it round etc...
Totally agree.

But the money we received from selling three of our best players certainly hasn't been spent by buying players of similar ability. You can't expect a team to sustain a successive promotion push with less quality players than the season before!

I know this thread was bumped up by spam but I did a fair amount of shuddering reading back through it. That season was awful.

I saw the heading and thought someone was taking a very defeatist attitude at the start of a new season.
