We've badly missed his presence, aggression & probing runs from midfield.
Agree. Harvey split opinion becuase he never stood out and didn't score many goals, But he did the mucky stuff well, never shirked out of a challenge and could get us moving forward. I think we missed his bite in midefield

Oh come on are we really talking about the same player here?

That's the thing Jonty, he split opinion but not because he didn't score many goals or he didn't stand out!
He did stand out and on his day he was a very good midfielder combative, aggressive in the tackle and could drive forward with the ball when he put his mind to it. But he divided opinion because he didn't do it enough in his time here, he quite often went missing not for a game but quite a few games, where he looked disinterested and just went through the motions.
Paul Cox seemed to get the best out of him a bit more consistently. Think we should move on from ARH he's done his time here!!

...and holt is here for no other reason then easy money in my opinion
'Those in the know' here in deepest, darkest Carlisle have consistently said for some years how fondly Grant Holt remembered his time with Barrow and would one day like to return (and similarly play for Carlisle late in his career). Ever since he left Hibernian, those contacts here have hinted that he was desperate to return to Barrow. And so it came to pass.

Indeed I must have been watching different player to the one described above.
Why do Barrow fans have a [SwearFilter] obsession with signing ex players back?

I always thought he was ok, just ok. He was never outstanding, he was never consistent, he never contributed more than the odd goal per season, he disappeared for games at a time and probably caused more than his fair share of unrest in the dressing room.
Forgetting about the arguments about re-investing, 10k was an absolute bargain...for Paul Casson, not Guiseley.

No obsession, just wasn't popular, where does it say sign him back? , i thought he did ok in his last season here, no better, no worse than what others have done before or since. Opinions.

If you leave your wife for someone else I think your wife is stupid to take you back especially if you are rubbish in bed.

Had to laugh at your missing for games comment. Think about 42 of the fu**ers comes to mind. Turned up in about 4 games a season usually in April

ARH couldn’t even get in Guisleys squad most weeks towards the end of the season

Greed got better of ARH.
A decent agent will get him back in conf North next season. His level. Good player

I think Kingsley James is a better midfielder than ARH and hope we can retain him. Of course he might go into 'sleep mode' like some do after the contract is signed but the manager should have an idea of the lad's character by now.

Wasn't sure about KJ at first but he improved a lot in his time here and he is a definite tick in the box for retaining.

The talent WAS here. What about the enigmatic Sean McConville? I never saw him put a tackle in here never mind a goal.

Central midfield has been a problem area for Barrow for years. I cannot think of any who have truly bossed midfield at this level and been able to tackle hard and pick out a pass in equal measure. Darren Sheridan best Ive seen. We need commanding leadership in there.
