A vile creature. Arrogant with a total disregard for other people.
I crossed swords with him at the "mud field" when he was smoking cigars in the stand, blowing the foul stench over everyone. He did not like being told a few home truths from a woman. Fylde had issued a memo that only 4 of our directors were allowed in their boardroom and they had to forward the names. No alcohol would be available.
Revenge was sweet the following week when I was helping with the directors catering.
Quote Can I have a coffee (no please).
Reply No. What? NO I don't serve anyone who blows cigar smoke over people giving them lung cancer.
Someone hastily produced said cup of coffee but I felt good.

The cheek of him to also pack our boardroom at half time with countless people young and old. Kids helping themselves to drinks out of the chiller.
A classic case of money not buying class.
I expect you will know I can't stand him.

If it was purely doe to money I am sure the Fylde owner could have out bid us.
I think IE managed to get a improved deal from Barrow but I also think he knows how valuable it is to have a Board that works with him and I am sure he mentioned how much better it was dealing with this Board than a previous Owner.
He is building a reputation, if we end up in the play offs or better still get promotion he will be poached.
Look how quick the Cowley brothers have gone up the league.

They say money talks, but why would Evatt want to go to a club that can only muster just over 1,000 fans for a home game on Boxing Day against the league leaders. I can't see that it is sustainable as a club.

If the positions in the league were reversed and we had been at home yesterday, would there have been many more than 1000 home supporters? I doubt it based on our early season home crowds.

Elaine you are obviously a lady of keen instincts and impeccable taste. You wouldn't believe some of the rumours that surround this guy.
As a matter of interest, I was speaking to someone yesterday who has known him for several decades who tells me that the cigar is in fact a relatively recent affectation in keeping no doubt with the image he wishes to project. Someone needs to have a word with him and tell him that big cigars and minders are more reflective of a 1930s gangster than they are of a 21st century businessman.
In actual fact the real damage he did with his comments yesterday was probably to his reputation with his peers, Unwritten rule - whatever goes on in boardrooms in football grounds - should stay there. Sometimes it goes your way sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't you just move on. You dont splatter your petulance across the page in such an embarrassing way. He has absolutely no class.

One last thought on this subject. A club owner that purports to have standards that others dont appear to be able to meet needs to be very careful with his comments especially in the light of some of the stories that have recently appeared about his precious club that would seem to indicate that leadership and oversight at AFC Fylde isn't perhaps what it should be.

A Google search for 'Tangerine Holdings' brings up some interesting opinions from employees and former employees!

As a lady of keen instincts, perhaps she WOULD believe some of the rumours.

Didn't we once have a Chairman who had minders? can't remember a cigar though. What happened to him?

Although I would have liked to have been there to see us beat them, I cannot stand the thought of paying good money to that plastic club and its chairman. It's one of the closer games to where I live, but I would rather use the money for a trip to Holker Street.

I can see your point, but the noise yesterday was none stop and the old cliche of the 12th man i think really applied here, some of the players have mentioned the great support also.

(why is the Owner actually writing programme notes anyway?)
You could always ask our Chairman/Part-owner; he might address the topic in his programme notes.

Weeks after that has all blown over, this article has been deliberately targeted for the Barrow programme to try and upset the club and our momentum. Well it didnโt work. No need for us to get embroiled in a tit for tat with them, Best place for it = in the bin.

To be fair to Fylde, their fans seemed spot on and stewards were alright too. Good cheeseburger too.
