Re: New Signings Rumours
Was on Evatts list as a potential signing before he left.
The fact he was on £850 a week at Hartlepool before he was released, then when we approached him and he requested £1600 a week is laughable so unless he significantly reduces his wage demands
Re: New Signings Rumours
No way would i have luke james we need established league 1 or 2 players who want to play for the club and not the money he is asking for

Trying to get Platt back should be a priority, definitely capable of the higher level and need to get in before Bolton do.

Absolutely certain that we'll try (or have tried) to get Platt and White on loan but whether we do is another thing as there will almost certainly be some competition.bluebird90 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 10:06 pm Trying to get Platt back should be a priority, definitely capable of the higher level and need to get in before Bolton do.
Re: New Signings Rumours
Im sure ive seen a post about Blackburn not so keen on loaning players to Bolton for some reason so hopefully the lads will want to come back esp as Dunn is here and he'll have good connections at Blackburn

Re: New Signings Rumours
Blackburn's issue may have more to do with Bolton's current financial constraints than local rivalry. The signings of Doyle and Sarcevic will both absorb a fair chunk of the total amount of budget that Bolton have available to spend under embargo rules. If it is true that they ae considering Spearing as well then you can see their tactic for next season emerging clearly. As Paul Hornby suggested in his RC interview it would appear to be centered around hiring a few well seasoned mercenaries and surround them with youth. High risk strategy when your hopes are built around players aged 30+
I'm sure Evatt would want Platt as he's good enough and he's cheap. Question is what do Blackburn get from this deal. Bolton cant have him all season, they'll play him till he drops and the idea that Bolton will be a stable environment for him to learn and develop may be far fetched. They are setting themselves up to either blast up the league or combust. They are on a mission and those clubs are not necessarily the best places to put your best youngsters into. He's also already developed under Evatt/Atherton for 12 months. I'm not sure that there is much more that he can learn from them alone.
If he goes to Bolton my guess would be that it will be on the basis that Wanderers will have indicated a willingness to buy him when they can and might probably even agree to a provisional fee. They might have to if they want him. His other options may be Blackpool, Accrington or Rochdale on loan in L1 or possibly back to us. I'd have said not until Dunn turned up but that may still be an option. I think Tom White might be a more likely addition.

I think Peter Atherton was very underrated in the building of our team, plus it's not long since Evatt was in the Football League so will have connections .Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 10:56 pmBlackburn's issue may have more to do with Bolton's current financial constraints than local rivalry. Think it's important that David Dunn should get someone similiar,
For me if Platt or White go on loan it will be a lot easier to come back to Barrow as he already knows his team mates and will have built up friendships that will also be a indicator of Blackburn and Dunn connection.

Rumoured to be joining Stockport with his brother James who has left Wrexham. Apparently live a stones throw from Edgeley Park.
