Its easy to sit here and ask why we've not played any games yet. Could be we've not sorted out our player recruitment as we might have some lads on trial to look at but i have noticed a couple of teams have played games (Bolton 2 games so far) - im sure we'll have ours games soon but the season seems to be so close to starting.

The players are still only in phase 1 of training which is small groups.

and it's 5 weeks (at least) until the league starts - we don't usually start friendlies until a month before it starts - so next weekend.
But yes we are all eager after 5-6 months without football to see/hear news/commentary etc especially after getting promoted.

as has been written elsewhere - it's mainly to stop fans trying to go to matches.
as has been posted - we have a practice match Thursday and a friendly this Saturday.
No doubt we will find out about them after they have taken place.
yes Bolton have played 3 already - but who cares... they have also lost one of their better players with a long term leg injury sustained in one of those matches.....

What's the difference between a practice match, a friendly, and a pre-season game?

Practice match probably more of a internal game using the squad maybe trialists that are training with us, friendly a non-competitive game, pre-season is what it says on the tin. That would be my interpretation of them, hope it helps!

Thanks for that. I take your point about the Practice game probably being internal, but still not sure about the other two.

Maybe they are interchangeable as you can also have a pre-season friendly!

Anyway whatever let's hope they are all useful to help our new squad to get to know each other and the way our new manager wants them to play. Can't wait to be able to attend some sort of action! :) :scarf:

Yeah I'd say so, I think the "behind closed doors" games they play during the season if there's a sleep without fixtures would be classed as friendlies too, as the pre-season games would be. Won't have to worry about that for long with the season just weeks away :scarf: :skill:

Don't see why the season should start until fans can return clubs will lose alot of revenue even for pre season games
