Carlisle United (A) Predictions

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

Tomorrow's game is a bit of an embarrassment. It reminds me of being in the Conference and playing the likes of Farnborough and Leigh RMI.

The reality is we should always be sticking a few goals on village teams like this.

However, with our tactical mastermind of a manager (who still tells us we're playing like Brazil) and after a good few years of mismanagement, a giant-killing may be on the cards.

It's the Morecambe factor we see time and again. Coming to Brunton Park is their cup final. They also have Mike Jones who knows precisely what Beech is going to tell our players before the game, and they haven't won yet this season. It's one of the fundamental laws of the universe, whoever you are you'll end your winless run against...

All that said, we should still all expect to win. I don't expect to see Beech at the club again if we lose.

On their forum but give them credit only one clown has said this the rest have give us respect and expecting to get beat but game could be cancelled depending on weather, and they still see us as Lancastrians not Cumbrians which I like.

Village team eh the guy is delusional from what I've seen so far not much difference in standard in the teams than the best in the national league.
Carlisle have been lower league 2 for years they keep changing manager and get no better something wrong with the way their being run. Beech started off sounding chipper now sounds warn down and defensive on interviews.

I don't think they have a striker of Quigleys stature and fancy him to get off the mark today.

The jealousy from some of their fans is palpable. They're being overtaken by little old Barrow, and can't even compete with us for signings.

Apparently they're still 'part-time' until the crowds are back! They beat Southend's team of assembled kids and rejects, which gave them false confidence, but they look awful.

"they look awful".
Well, we haven't been that good ourselves have we.
I think one or two are underestimating Carlisle.
I can see Carlisle giving us a good pasting in this one with their physical ability-hope am wrong.

Why is it being built up as the first Cumbrian derby since 1964 ? Surely its the first Cumbrian derby between the 2 clubs ? In 1964 Carlisle were in Cumberland and Barrow in Lancashire so it wasn't a derby as such.

Workington V Carlisle would be a derby back then but don't think they were ever in the same league since Cumbria was formed.

Barrow is Lancastrian. It is only an administrative thing that happened in 1974. Anyway look at it this way we eat Cumberland sausages not Cumbria sausages :P Don't give predictions just hope Barrow can win
