exactly, some people have short memories, he's one of our only players who can take on a man and beat him, says a lot about him when he's in today's lineup. One of only 4 from last year in today's starting lineup. Scored worldy goals at holker street and played a big role in last year's title.

His only usefulness is whilst he is on the field of play playing football and using a bit of common sense. That should be the only point being made by posters I think!🤔

Apparently he was not in the team to face Cambridge when it was given to Paul Hornby on Friday.
Injuries meant he was put back in.

Would make sense his form has been terrible and his discipline is atrocious offers nowt of late.

Imo Kay's standard has only dipped due to the lack of decent balls played to his strengths one of which is his pace, can't remember this season any of our midfielders playing the ball into space behind the defender for him to run on to, which Rooney did on a regular basis in fact I think the midfielders we have had this season would struggle to pass wind let alone a football, just imagine what havoc he would cause to defences in this league if he had someone with the passing ability & creativity of someone like Hoolahan feeding him.

You don't think defenders are...maybe...a bit better in this league?

Re Defenders in league 2
Some are better than National League some arn't you could say the same comparing for example Championship defenders against League one, our problem imo is lack of creativity & vision in midfield which is starving our attack of any kind of decent service

No, the point is that Kay is less effective against better players. If his strength was finding space to run into, the better defenders now have that space covered. His game was about cutting inside with the ball and having a shot or making something happen - now he gets closed down far quicker and is tackled before he has a chance.
He's not good enough for this level, sadly.

Oh dear????? interesting point of view you have & if that truly is the case I hope you enjoy National League football again next season that's if the club is still in existence & not bankrupt after Jolley's spending spree on players who so far also don't appear to be good enough for this level

On his day he is a good player. Has anyone really stood out this season ? I mean really? Players have had the odd good game, quite a few average ones then awful where they get slated and if you look at the players brought in recently they look an improvement to me to some that are sadly not up for the fight to stay in this league.

😂😂😂 no relation chief but a good mate of mine is a Barnsley fan & he says he was highly rated by the fan's and the coaching staff recons he would be in their championship team now playing centre midfield & only left because he didn't get on with the manager Heckingbottom. Who ironically then [SwearFilter] off to Leeds
