BTW undoubtedly it's no coincidence that in the last 3-4 interviews with Rob he mentions the efforts of David Dunn but as always never mentions Jolley. Also listened to the interview on Friday with Connor Brown and he made reference to a time when there were cliques and the team wasn't together i.e. under Jolley.

Nothing, which is why they've had a terrible season and almost got relegated on the last day.

Sam has done a great job but let's not have Dunn/Jolley all over again. If Rob doesn't want it we get an experienced L1/L2 manager.
This 100%

I’d be amazed, and disappointed if we went down that route again.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Feel like Dunn gets off lightly cos he is portrayed as a nice guy and RKs mate. He was just as much a disaster as Jolley.

I wouldn't be too disappointed if the current regime stayed in place. But if not whoever it is needs to have some kind of proven track record and not be a weirdo.

Dunn didn't get results but seemed to have everyone on board i.e. the team spirit was good, just couldn't win games. Sounds like (although we've really yet to hear the truth) that the atmosphere under Jolley was toxic. In the Morecambe interview he clearly calls out the players for not playing for him i.e. accuses them of basically not trying.

Listening to RK he obviously likes Dunn and I would not be surprised if he does not end up at Fleetwood .
I just looked at staff at Fleetwood it's like a cast from Hollywood Graysons assistant is Dunn.
RK does not want the job here and that's his perogative he has done a good job but he has avoided any mention of it and if he did I am sure the Board would off given him a roll that suited him.
If he goes to Fleetwood he will be working with his mate and near the M6 so easier to get home.Pure speculation he may get a job nearer where he lives.

Dunn seemed a nice guy the way he did not put the screws on the Board for quick payment for compensation.
Jolly was a car disaster .
The Board were naive, we have never been here for nearly 50 years but they rectified their GENUINE mistakes.
Things are obviously going on in the back ground maybe not just on the field due to the time it's taking making a announcement as its been apparent RK will be off
We've been here in a sense with Ady Pennock nice guy who some how saved us then Evatt came.
Maybe it's true nice guys win nothing!

What you rambling on about Pedro? Where has Kelly said he doesn't want the job? Why would Simon Grayson take him to Fleetwood?

I'm sure all will be sorted in the next 7 days.

I am making assumptions, RK knew we were safe after FGR but when asked about his future said we will have to wait we have a job to do still.
I think most teams would take Kelly he has a good pedigree, unlike some of the sharp suited Managers you see.
Yes I do ramble .
Let's hope I am wrong and you are right that he is staying.

Rob Kelly reputation as a coach and assistant manager is second to none. I don’t know what the pay Comparison is between an assistant at a championship / big league 1 club versus managing Barrow but it wouldn’t surprise me if he is demand for a no2 job higher up the food chain.

If you ever listen to the undr the cosh podcast the lads on there talk about him being a top class coach and great man. No surprise Dunn went for him they’ll be others after him as well.

At his stage in life maybe it’s more appealing being a 2 - must be less stress and surely less hours!

My gut feeling hasn't changed. Rob doesn't want the gig full-time. Doesn't look the type to have his arm twisted with sentiment. I reckon he'll move onto an assistant manager/coach job somewhere in the Championship or L1. Barrow will need to find a new saviour - preferably one who doesn't wear a sharp suit and talk endlessly about formations.

David Dunn was hired on a two year contract and fetched Rob Kelly in. I would presume on a two year contract? If thats the case then surely RK is contracted to us for next season. The only question that needs answering is in what capacity.

As most of the Barrow manager's working week is spent around Manchester, don't really think that Fleetwood has any great geographical advantage.

Is Neil McDonald still around? Maybe him number 1 with Kelly and Hird assistants. Not saying that’s the right option btw

Just to be clear, I agree with you that this is not the time for a gamble, but if the management team we have now were to continue that could mean good things based on the PPG they gained.
