Good signing for you, disappointed he’s gone. Fairly paced, quite strong, and chips in with a good few goals. Not looking forward to him playing against us next season, and I have to say I’m more than a little concerned as to what’s going on behind the scenes at my club.

Can’t watch the video interview, does he say much about the offer made to him by CUFC? Guessing it was miserly.

Best of luck for next season, except for when we meet of course...
Don't think he ever mentioned the Carlisle offer - certainly no details on it.

Can't comment on the standard of the opposition (U-23's ?) or the filming but he scored a few gems on this vid.Looks pacy and strong. Him and Quigs will be a real handful if we can just find the right midfield links in the supply chain.

Let’s hope Zan proves to be the man other teams fear!
Welcome to Barrow AFC.

He seems quite intelligent but does not say anything derogatory towards Carlisle.
Sorry you have trouble at your club but it's the way of the world.
I remember going to watch Carlisle at Leicester in Old first Division when I was working there.
Chris Beach comes over as a bit of a know it all moaning about budgets.

No, more about the unsaid things about Carlisle cf the way he talks about Barrow.

Good luck to you too. (Same caveat)

Comes across as very grounded & speaks well about life as a footballer.
He was a handful when we played Carlisle so him and Quigs should cause a few problems for defenders next season.

Carlisle forum is fun at the moment...

At least one of the relegation places is already sewn up for next season.

I might end up eating my words, but I can’t see it going quite so far. We’ve retained the services of most of our better players from last season (excluding Zanzala for obvious reasons) with Patrick and Bennett still thinking about their offers. Think we’ll have more than enough to avoid a relegation battle, and a few shrewd signings in the right positions will put us in with a shot at the top 7. It’s more the off the field side of CUFC that has us worried up north...

Who knows, there could yet be two Cumbrian(?) clubs in the promotion hunt...

Weren't Carlisle in relegation form from about Christmas? Minus the three best strikers, key centre back, captain and goalkeeper, and then that's surely cause for concern?

Looks a promising signing.

In an Omar Bogle kinda way, he's already scored some massive goals for us - a 93rd-minute equaliser vs Grimsby and the winner vs Southend.

There were mitigating circumstances for the loss of form. Carlisle suffered more than most with players testing positive for Covid. That caused a massive fixture backlog and it took them until the last month of the season to get back up to full fitness. On top of that the training ground was out of use due to the severe wet winter. I think they ended up training in Penrith some days and Kendal rugby union on the all weather pitch.

Just read the Carlisle Forum and in the whole their supporters seem quite upset that Zanzala has chosen little old Barrow over Carlisle. They seem to think they have a divine right to be the premier club in the county.I just hope we prove them wrong this season.Onwards and upwards. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
