For all the wrong reasons though. I think whoever looses will be relegated with scunny. God knows what will happen if it’s a drawHenneysKnee wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 10:28 am Be 4,000 in against Carlisle surely. Shaping up to be a massive game

I think it will depend on what happens between now and then really.
We have six games before we play carlisle. If either us or them dont shape up in the next six games I reckon one of us is a gonner and doomed never to return for donkeys years.
Our last six games...... my god, doesnt bear thinking about.
I just hope its not them scotch b******s that help seal our fate.
Carlisle wouldnt get back this time, they are to far north-they may as well apply for the scottish league.
Re: Holker end
There’ll be a few visiting fans snapping up any tickets remaining in the home ends. We’re gluttons for punishment…HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 10:28 am Be 4,000 in against Carlisle surely. Shaping up to be a massive game

But a good win for us on the day

I think the limited allocation could work either way - it’ll either keep the nutters away, or it’ll lead to absolute bedlam.cottingham bluebird wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 10:30 am The Carlisle game will be a sell out and full of madness and mayhem knowing them lot.

Our allocation will be snapped up by season ticket holders, so can’t see many of our nutters being in the away end. Bound to be a few away fans looking for tickets in the home ends…

Re: Holker end
It's quite alarming that the Carlisle fixture is attracting so much publicity for all the wrong reasons.
A lot of young men in Barrow - probably the same troop that kicked off in the Carlisle pubs - are looking forward to creating mayhem at this game.
I usually stand on The Holker End terrace but I'm thinking of making alternative arrangements for this fixture.
I remember Workington Reds visiting Holker Street back in the day. I was only a kid and watched running battles up and down Holker Street on match day. It was shocking! During the game a bunch of Workington lads stood at the corner of the Holker End - ironically where the away fans stand now - shouting and heckling. I then watched as a hail of bricks, thrown from outside the ground, landed on their heads. There is still no roof that covers that part of the ground. I sincerely hope adequate policing measures are in place for this fixture.
Forget about an early kick off. Won't make any difference. I traveled by train for our away fixture with The Cumbrians - arriving about an hour before the 1.00pm start. Hundreds traveled on the early morning trains and most, apparently, were intoxicated before even entering the pubs. Traveling back I viewed many throwing up on seats and upsetting people. I wonder if these same Barrow 'fans' will be attending the Harrogate fixture on Saturday?

Did you see the ridiculous amount of police at the away game? I don’t think you need to worry that there will be inadequate policingSea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 5:39 pm I sincerely hope adequate policing measures are in place for this fixture.

I am certain Rickie and his colleagues will have their intel antennas working on this fixture right now. I am sure he will have had an input in how tickets are being sold. Given Carlisles strict policy in how their allocation is sold I don't think that there will,l be any bother. If any Carlisle fans happen to be in with Barrow fans I am sure they will be quickly identified and taken to the nearest ext gate. Bradford, Hartlepool and Tranmere had the same allocation and all passed off fine.Sea Dog Sam wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 5:39 pm It's quite alarming that the Carlisle fixture is attracting so much publicity for all the wrong reasons.

Knowing the poor standard of stewards present if any Carlisle fans get found in the barrow end they will get put in the away end and probably get a drink voucher for the inconvenienceMain Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 8:51 pmI am certain Rickie and his colleagues will have their intel antennas working on this fixture right now. Re: Holker end
Yes, I noticed the police presence at Carlisle. I also noticed two rival mobs squaring up to each other on the streets of Botchergate near the station and the throwing of bottles and flares. On arrival at the station we couldn't enter because of the number of Barrow lads trying to exit the station - to join their mates in the brawl. The police held them at bay with batons. We we ushered to a side entrance by the police. The police did their best but the "ridiculous amount of police" you mention is way off the mark. They were outnumbered by about 9-1.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 8:07 pmDid you see the ridiculous amount of police at the away game?
