I was pleased to see police presence as I am fed up walking back to car through yobs 15 to 20 yrs either baiting opposition fans as they go to their coaches or trying to force their way passed stewards to get at them which I observed at last friendly.I have seen on other occasions some youths told multiple times to leave scene being ushered away along road by police and being abusive to them causing people to have to wait behind the police on the pavement to get home.Should have been nicked. Before anyone says it I realise that a lot of clubs that come here with substantial numbers of fans have their own yobbery the flare thrown yesterday on pitch as an example and they should be treated same fashion.Sad to say but if no police presence some people particularly those walking young kids home would be wary of attending matches..Re stewards was told some of them felt weren’t getting enough backing from club and it is one of those thankless jobs.Important for people to feel safe home and away .

Is this a wind up post ? Asking why the police are at a game when it’s obvious why they are there.

Fans from Bradford & Barrow ran into the pitch, you could even see the Barrow players asking ours to go back.
I don’t understand why anyone would want to risk being thrown out of a ground and miss the end of a match (especially how that ended yesterday) just for the “thrill” of patting a player on the back.
I can’t imagine home or away supporters getting away with that on the return fixture.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Fingers crossed this is the last year anybody has to visit your non league hovel.
In the Tally-Ho before the match I said to my mate that if we beat Bradford, it would go down badly in Carlisle-and apparently it has!.

First weekend of the season last week and there was a host of incidents across the football league, following on from last season. If this continues then there is going to be more police at football games.

A few banning orders might keep them away, or is that a badge of honour nowadays?

I’d be bitter to if I was a Carlisle fan, fingers crossed but it looks like we have a real gem in Pete Wild, great backing from the board, meanwhile Carlisle have a mediocre team in a flood risk, decaying ground they can’t do anything with.

Our fans get treated like shit at every home game, yet have to stand there while away supporters take the [SwearFilter], run on the pitch, flares on the pitch every home game. No wonder it kicks off. If the police did their job properly then alot of tension would be taken out of the situation

There is no tension if you're not looking for it.

Will be interesting if we follow the EFL guidelines regarding banning orders for all those who came o to the pitch , home and away. Otherwise we will be seen as an easy touch, and will happen again and again. Wonder how many of the 24 to 18 year olds were there with just a letter from a mate... just let's see.

Let the referee report the flare and supporters on the pitch in their report to EFL and Barrow do nothing about it.. Then we will see. Let the players and managers excellent hard work go down the pan for a few mindless individuals, and a lack of stewards and unpaid bills ( if true) Bradford city had to use many loyalty points to get into yesterday's game ... so you can't say they are not fans!

The reaction of some people on here is so pathetically small club syndrome. We are now an established football league club, getting crowds of 3/4 thousand, what happens off the pitch is happening at every other league ground. And as for people constantly slating the younger element now attending games, l love it, they are our supporters of the future, and as for the atmosphere they are now creating within the stadium, it’s fantastic. My message to them is, keep up the great work, and bring a mate.

From the start of season 2022/23, all identified offenders will be reported by clubs to the police and prosecution could result in a permanent criminal record, which may affect their employment and education, and could result in a prison sentence. The FA will also be enforcing a tougher charging and sanctioning policy for clubs, which will reinforce these measures.( I'm sure that is an invoice that has to be paid)

Furthermore, anyone who enters the pitch and those identified carrying or using pyrotechnics or smoke bombs will now receive an automatic club ban. These bans could also be extended to accompanying parents or guardians of children who take part in these activities.

Interesting Para 2

Find it ironical that a Bradford person will not call them a supporter throws a flare after what happened at their stadium in 1985 seeing 56 people burnt to death and 265 casualties.
Walking through Asda listened to three Bradford lads saying what a sxxt hole the ground looked.
I said it shows how far you have fallen from your Premier Days and Paul Jewel.
The lad said it's before my time I do not know about that ,I said so was 1066 for me but I know what happend then
