And before we start getting the diehard fatalists that think the because of what happened on saturday our form is bound to nose dive I would just add the following.
Anyone who went to Northampton and watched the first round tie would have been struck by the utterly shambolic performance of the hosts that day sitting as they do a League above us. Chatting to a couple of their faithful after the game they were utterly dejected wondering where their season would go next. Even I was forced to wonder how Northampton's form would react to the defeat such was the poverty of their performance.
As it turned out they then recorded three consecutive league victories lifting them above the relegation zone.
Football is a game played on a pitch but often won largely between the ears of those playing it.
Brilliant quote! And so true.
A win against Gillingham would help (dare I say it?) our promotion hopes. They're sitting 7th. A win would put us nine points clear of them - with an excellent chance of at least finishing in a play-off position.

Way way to early to think remotely about playoffs fella, it's early December, get your feet back on the ground.

One can only dream
One of the few times I've being optimistic on here and I get knocked back!

I still think a nine point advantage (if it occurs) from the 7th placed team would be highly desirable.

If we are still in the play off positions on the 2nd of January we will make them imho; beating Gillingham would make the first part of that very achievable

There’s no way we will get in the playoffs, are strike force is bottom half at best, if we lost either canavan or Ray I believe we would struggle.

We are 13 points off the 50 point marker - that's the first target for this season. Ever heard of the phrase take it one game at a time?

Scored 8 more than Gills, so they will be relegation fodder by your logic

The 3 teams who finished top of league 2 last season Leyton Orient, Stevenage and Northampton all averaged 1.32 goals a game.
Barrow's average after 20 games is better at 1.35 goals a game with most of goals coming from different playing positions, similar to where the goals came from for last year's top 3.

Would think this one will be an early pitch inspection. Tomorrow before other teams set off. More rain is forecast on top of what we’ve had this week and the snow last week will cause the ground staff problems on top of what is already a boggy pitch.
Not being a doom monger here- want this to go ahead as much as anyone but have to sensible and make an early call. Great if it goes ahead.

Er, we are not playing in your back garden 100 miles away from Barrow Andy. If we were, you might look out of your kitchen window and wonder what the hell was going on.

Just been told by a BAFC employee there's a 1.30pm pitch inspection today, anyone else heard the same?
