Rotation Iโd say
Rotation? When has anyone ever rotated a keeper

Id say brought in as a number 2 with a eye to being future number 1
We more or less did in 2010 when we had Tim Deasy and Stuart Tomlinson.
Tomlinson was actually from Chester too.

Hope I am wrong I think Farman will have been sold and he will be our number 1 keeper.
Does no one find it funny that neither the Manager or the Assistant has said anything about this signing?

Great swoop for a player with big potential and after a great season with Chester.
From their local ragโฆ.
40 Appearances, 29 Goals Conceded, 18 Clean Sheets
Wyll Stanway has been a revelation in goal for Chester this season, making vital saves again and again to keep the seals in games and keeping a very impressive 18 clean sheets in the league. Despite having a capable and mostly settled defence in front of him, the former Lancaster man has been so important and his ability to be comfortable with the ball with his feet adds to his already well-rounded game.
Chester fans would have been worried when star goalkeeper Harry Tyrer departed the club, but in Stanway Chester fans have found a new hero to worship in between the sticks.
Stanwayโs phenomenal performances have even been recognised within the England set up, with the 22 year old getting a call up to the England C Squad this March.
Welcome to Barrow Wyll!

Wonder if Mick Payne was instrumental in Wyll coming back to his hometown club.

Nice to receive some good news. Heโs a good young keeper. Farman has 1 or 2 years left as number 1 keeper. Wyll is just the kind of signing we should be making for the future. He has the ability to be number 1. Definitely not a makeshift signing.
Think the supporters will like him a lot. Nice to have a Stanway in our squad too.

2 Barrovians in the first team squad is great! I wonder if Wyll will count as 'homegrown' and allow us an extended bench?

No because heโs not come from an academy - it doesnโt work in that way otherwise weโd have had 7 subs with Newby playing for us

Thanks for that. Living in the area I've seen him play a handful of games and have friends and neighbours who have mentioned before their surprise he hasn't been tracked by us. He has had a bit of a rollercoaster ride with Chester before cementing his place last season. Prior to that they brought in a loanee from Everton and he was edged out going on loan to the likes of FCUM and Macclesfield. But he stuck at it and his dedication has finally got him the step up he deserves. Lets just hope he doesn't get the 'local so must be crap' that has long eminated from some sections of the terraces over the years.
