Re: Barrow vs Derby Match Thread
There seems to be a more positive approach to games this season. Great start by Clemence.

Re: Barrow vs Derby Match Thread
All the people who didn't go tonight missed a good game, if you were a neutral you wouldn't have known which team was championship or who was league 2.
Absolutely tremendous effort once again!
Still can't believe what's happened these last few years, I have to keep pinching myself!
Young Neo got Man of the match deserved but every one did their bit !

Good night under the floodlights two well matched sides competing well. The supporters at The Holker Street End made it as difficult as possible for the Derby penalty takers Farman and the woodwork did the rest.
Re: Barrow vs Derby Match Thread
I am seriously impressed by SC, his approach and outlook is a stark difference, talking with Adam about being on the front foot regardless of the oppo. Things are looking really good, we have to be happy with this start to the season. We have to move on from break ups, the future often works out better than previous relationships.

Wow! Best I have seen them play for a long time.Well done team and management .Get your friends off the sofa or down the pub to savour atmosphere like that at Holker street.Well done everyone team management ground staff and fans.
Re: Barrow vs Derby Match Thread
Pitch has improved since the friendlies. It doesn’t seem to cut up as much and drainage certainly looks to have improved credit to the ground staff

What a great night. We more than matched Derby, would've been a bit of an injustice if we lost that on pens.
Popular side since '03.

I think we edged in play and no disrespect to derby but it was difficult to see who was the championship team.
We are a solid unit and it showed well tonight though I still think a decent striker and we could have killed em off before pens.
Our front line did well so don't want to discredit them too much.
Overall, great night, good football.

So many top performers across the park but Eccleston was outstanding and worthy player of the match. A great night.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Not me, ever. I was impressed with him from the start and I think he’s improving all the time.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 9:52 pm Who remembers when folk on here wanted rid of Paul Farman?
I like Feely but young Ecclestone looks a more comfortable player, and definitely more of a threat going forward. Garner looked ok tonight as he has done so far, he just needs to show that more often.
Entertainment-wise, this is light years ahead of the last few seasons….whether it proves more successful is another thing. I’m enjoying it so far though.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

We aren’t going to win you say?vialli 9 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 8:04 pm If Stanway isn't going to get a game in a competition we aren't going to win, then when is he? I presume the league is our main target . If Farman gets injured ( God forbid) does Stanway play on Saturday or do we get a loan keeper , with experience, in to cover? Just a thought.

Re: Barrow vs Derby Match Thread
Really hope we get the Man United or Liverpool away draw that the board deserves.
Biggest thing for me tonight was that we fully deserved that; wasn’t like we clung on and scabbed a draw then won on penalties, we properly went toe to toe with them and could have easily won it in normal time
