What’s strange about it. The club think they’ve found a gem in the lower leagues and think the best way to develop him is to loan him for half a season a couple of leagues lower than ourselves. On a 18 month contract with an option of an another year. Could spend all next season on loan in the national league who knows
They need to find a gem to score goals and keep us up.
Aaron Pressley. League one striker dropping down a division. 23 year old good pedigree and hungry to get his career back on track what's not to like.

Moosehead wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 4:12 pm Getting ready for National League next year? Surely not?
Club already got several players Contracted for next Season if that happens, Stanway, Acquah, Mahoney, Canavan, Kouyate, Flecther, Jackson, and possible Feeley, Kirk & Barnes on next Season options, and now Shamalo, all should be decent for the National League.
Fcuk sake man... Can we give relegation a rest till we are actually in that position??

We are NOT in the bottom 3, we are 15th!! We are NINE places from bottom.
Is that it now for the second half of the season, are the doom and gloom merchants going to mentally drive us into a league below or are we as supporters going to f u c king get behind the blood team and club and just see if we can't progress up the table????

Sometimes the negativity on here really [SwearFilter] me off especially when the doom and gloom merchants just won't give it a rest!

Do you all wake up each morning [SwearFilter] off cos you didn't breathe properly in your sleep??

That’s definitely it isn’t it? Obviously not one for “now” but shows a bit of forward planning. Good to see we’re still looking at these things.
Sorry, strange was probably the wrong word. What i meant was firstly it came out of the blue given we are searching for the missing piece(s) of the current jigsaw and secondly I can't remember in my 60 odd years of support us ever going down this sign and loan out immediately route.
Hope he has a succesful second-half and comes back in the summer pumped up and raring to go.

It's never been on track.
3 clubs prior to joining Stevenage 45 games 8 goals hardly prolific before joining Stevenage and going off

Is it negative to point out the facts?

I have a nice feeling about this but, the article says that John Shamalo "will continue his development in a full-time footballing environment"!
I was just wondering, does that mean that Eastbourne are full time ?

I think it might be that he’ll train full time- ie with Barrow .

No it's being factual.
I was right about Joel Dixon and got alot of stick, where is he now?
Having said that I complained about Rooney coming.
Not always right and never won the fantasy football league.
I look forward to being wrong hopefully.
Probably right negative but seen that many false dawn's .
Bob Ledger scored 2 goals on his debut think it was against Rochdale and nothing for the following 21 games Wayne Bullymore another.

On another thing if we go down maybe we will have found our level but it's where we drop .

The attitude well everyone is looking for a striker is not good enough.

Paul Ogden unearthed two gems in Ritchie Bennett and Jordan Williams .
Both players did well for us and Bennett was sold for £50,000 Williams I am sure for a similar fee.
It cost us relatively little and we made a good sum.

Take in contrast whoever is doing the recruiting Sporting Director or Manager the cost and what we've recouped.
It's like the Argentinan Junta all people wearing the medals but no foot soldiers.
I don't care how hard it is to recruit it's there job

We’ve had these type of strikers before (in recent years) who never get a chance in the first team no matter how poor our forward line is performing. Pointless signing probably

I wouldn't say he unearthed two gems. They did ok at the level they played at for us but neither pulled up any trees when playing league football. IMO it was more a case of we got lucky as clubs took a punt on them that didn't pay off.
As for today's squad times have changed and very few players in league 2 move on for money these days. I wouldn't at all be surprised if any of Cambell, Gotts or Spence run there contracts down and move on for no fee like Brough and Whitfield did as was there right. If any of the 3 ive mentioned were to go for a feee id guess it would could be anything from 75k up to 125k for any of them with sell on clause too.

IIRC Kenny Lowe brought Wayne Bullimore to the club. A lovely ball playing midfielder not to do dissimilar to Lowe but not quite as good. Rarely wasted a ball and could pick a pass. A joy to watch on his day of which he had a fair few for the bluebirds
