Hope this info is better than your Barrow Eats rubbish
And the “Darren Ferguson post Boxing Day”, shenanigans
Cook did get a lot of sh*t when he got injured at holker street, but no one knew it was a a serious one, and he did provide an assist which pretty much kept us out of the play offs.
Tyler Smith scored from that assist if my memory is right....and our second half of the season decline was the reason we missed out.
Love him or hate him Andy Cook he's a goal scorer at this level and they're worth their weight in gold.
Not the quickest even 10 years ago but he's strong, aggressive, can hold it and scores all kind of goals - would be an addition to any team at this level, us especially.
Gotts is featuring for Doncaster so can't see that one happening but it's not an area that we need to strengthen in as a priority I don't think.

Think Gotts has only played in minor Cup games. May be wrong.

He's a regular substitute but hardly ever starts in league matches.

Cookie loved barrow and the fans loved him.
When he left, Casson had done the dirty on him, when we went full time, every other player was given a full time contact except Cook, who was expected to not be paid all year long and to basically do preseason for free. That is why he chose to leave. Which I completely understand!

Hes in the squad most weeks I've looked but normally comes off the bench. Doncaster in bottom 2 so if they recruit in January and hes not required then he might want a loan move but that doesn't mean he'll come here but you never know in football

Not saying it wasn’t, stories though can be exaggerated, twisted, added to, taken away from and perhaps little bits of memory fade on both sides added to the pot.
I’m still saying there was more to it than that. End of the day AC was looking for a better deal for himself and I guess he got that, that’s football.

Got to say I agree with Ian here- memories notwithstanding.
All respect to Cooky and will be absolutely delighted if he comes back but he was one of many we were paying top dollar for. Also said he wanted to play a league up, then went to Tranmere.
Another well known player from the time told me that when approached to sign, he (the player) asked a ridiculous figure, only to get it, having been told by the then manager ' we will pay anything'.
Just doesn't line up for me- but you know, opinions etc. Nowt wrong with Cooky wanting the best for himself either. Contributed a hell of a lot more than some that used the club as a cashpoint in the Casson era.
