New Ray when he was at Greengate School just a year or two above
me. Might be getting things mixed up but wasn't he the goalkeeper for Barrow youth when they lost 14-1 to manchester United (Best scored a hat-trick). Might be getting my names mixed up.

You are correct. With me growing up on the same street as Ray this was only one of many stories he used to tell. I believe he stated that George best had been on the beer the night before also

Absolute true Gentleman, had time for anyone and everyone! The most humble person I think I've met.

Good that the club are moving folks around so that his wife can have Ray's seat and the rest of the family have the seats around.
