I meant the ones made in January - are you saying Wood didn't have a say in spending £300,00?

Re: Joe Anderson
January's signings were Gallagher's. Wood's role was always to then go and negotiate the deal (so we were told).bluessupporter wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 1:44 pmI meant the ones made in January - are you saying Wood didn't have a say in spending £300,00?
Don't let the old man in.

Re: Joe Anderson
Smith would be quality at this level, Shipley was steady in the league above at times and Cameron has been banging them in for fun in Scotland, be daft not to have a look at him pre season. Kouyate and barkhuizen should of been binned months agoMain Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2026 7:15 pmInnes Cameron, Brakhuizen, Shipley Scott Smith Kayoute. There five who needs to be shipped out asap. I can't imagine Jackson will have been told he is needed either so there is another one. Murray told those that he no longer wants that are under contract the other week to find other clubs.

Agree smith and Shipley could be decent at this level. Put a shift in more than most last season too even if it was a very low bar set.Barrowvianbedlam wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 5:54 pmSmith would be quality at this level, Shipley was steady in the league above at times and Cameron has been banging them in for fun in Scotland, be daft not to have a look at him pre season. Re: Joe Anderson
Different topic to Joe Anderson I know (he didn’t show up well when he got a chance), but my view is the three keepers currently on the books are more than adequate for NL.
As I always say hope isn’t a strategy, but we can hope Stanway lives up to his potential.
Winterbottom was a star for Fylde when he was there and did well for us when required, and Barrett had a very good game at the end of the season.

We don't need 3 keepers. Im pretty sure Stanway will be on his way. After his town centre incident it just shows how unprofessional he is.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 8:25 pm Different topic to Joe Anderson I know (he didn’t show up well when he got a chance), but my view is the three keepers currently on the books are more than adequate for NL.

Full of mistakes and costly errors hopefully he gets removed from our books

Re: Joe Anderson
I would have had Winterbottom as our number 1 (assuming Stanway is going to bring some funds in) but the rumours around the last game of the season is a worry. Barrett would be an ideal number 2, you really want an experienced keeper behind such a new defence
Of the other list Smith would be fine at this level; him, MJ (hopefully) and the new lad from Alty as the midfield 2 options is decent. Rest could go, Shipley yes put a great shift in but you aren’t making the play offs if he was going to be a serious option for the starting 11. Finding someone to take Barky and Harpers wages on will probably be the toughest part but hopefully we can get rid.

Too many people too quick to judge others, keen to pick up on rumours and find inferences in things that support their agendas.

Re: Joe Anderson
Interesting the video on the clubs YouTube with the manager saying a couple more deals are don e but wont be announced yet (assuming until contracts expire end of june). Be interesting to see which areas of the pitch hes felt the need to strengthen

If that's an indication of John Doolan's player judgement, I'll have Accy marked down for relegation!

Most folk had them down for relegation last season but they survived comfortably. Wright them off at your perilrussell_anderson wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 3:32 pmIf that's an indication of John Doolan's player judgement, I'll have Accy marked down for relegation!
Re: Joe Anderson
Amazed Anderson has got a league club, absolute bomb scare of a player for us. Let’s be honest though league 2 last season was not a good standard, we were just the absolute worst of a bad bunch.
Regarding the keepers I would expect Winterbottom to be first choice as Murray must rate him having taken him to fylde on loan, Stanway I think needs a fresh start wherever that be and get his head back.

Re: Joe Anderson
Yep agree with the Stanway comment. Needs to move away get some proper coaching and minutes in front of a stable defence and the boy will be playing championship within the next 4 yearsScott5 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 6:56 pm Amazed Anderson has got a league club, absolute bomb scare of a player for us. I wouldn't want Scott Smith in a Barrow shirt next season but not sure any other club would take him.Steeley wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 7:47 pmAgree smith and Shipley could be decent at this level. I struggle to see his quality at this or any level.
The only quality I can see is the ability to pick up yellow cards with monotonous regularity.
On the plus side I would keep Shipley as a squad player.
