Definitely, make him train and attend all the games. Don't let him sit at home.

Plus if he trains he's match ready for another team to pick him up.

Unless he is poisonous. We don’t know what he was like in the group last season. Dont want any negativity around this squad only positive vibes.

I agree 100% and I’d say that’s definitely the reason he isn’t training with us. The fact he trained on his own las pre season says something about him imo and not in a positive light.

Sounds like a job for the Pop Side PSYOPs Team
Play him on the wing alongside them and they will do the rest
Job jobbed 👍

2 points:
1.match ready for another team to pick him up.Won't happen as he's only going downward and won't earn what he's getting for sitting on his arse.
2. I don't buy this " poisonous".Been here 1 season and the likes of MJ amd SF would surely have put him in his place.

He was frozen out for a reason last season. The lads a bad egg. I heard on more than one occasion he was running the club down behind the owners back. Probably turned up at Radcliffe just to make a point to club officials
“ look at me I’m still here and getting paid ha ha”
Like I’ve said the fact he couldn’t even get a club to train with last pre season and trained on his own for two months speaks volumes.
Some individuals are beyond being put in their place I put Barkhuizen in that category and you definitely don’t want his ilk anywhere near the training ground while a new manager is trying to build and create a different culture at the club to what we had

MSST,

Agree absolutely on your last point, gaffer is trying to build a team ( and imo doing a good job doing so).
We don't need anything impeding the visible progress made so far.

Main Stand to give a player who didn’t have a club a lucrative two year contract seems madness. We held all of the cards in that negotiation but clearly didn’t use them .

In a season of poor decisions and signings Barkhuizen was the poorest and most costly last season imo and sadly it’s hampering Murray’s team building plans for this upcoming season

Hopefully some form of compromise to get a couple out the door (easier said than done) and fingers crossed the 2 players the manager really wants in the club get over the line as I've been impressed with the recruitment so far this season.

The two players he wants are already sorted - he’s just waiting on the thumbs up from above to dot the i’s, cross the t’s and submit the paper work

From the sounds of it Barkhuizen’s situation will have no effect on that

I heard down by the sour dough that Barky is sending a stand-in player to represent him at Barrow this coming season. A clear case of Barkhauzen by Proxy then.

Might be reading too much in to that but would assume they're already trialists if so. Sure if not the club would want them in and training with us asap and so other clubs couldn't pick them up?
