Yes. We look a good side with good options off the bench. I know it’s only a friendly but we’ve been good. Total contrast to last season. Team looks really focused. Paul Kalambayi central defender in a back 4 has been great.

Overall this sounds like a much more effective side than we had last season . I know friendly games can sometimes become false hope when the season starts in earnest ...but overall , so much of what went on last season appears to have been replaced with direction , organisation , skill and confidence. If we can build on this... a good season could result and that, in turn, should result in improved attendances too. Well done to all, Keep it up guys .

Barrow looked a solid side ,the work rate and running off the ball was brilliant, I'll hold my hand up, innes cameron scored and good goal and did really well when he came on ,think we'll be hard to beat this season, leaving 3 up from corners wow !
Early days but the signs are very good!

If this isn’t a top 7 side then there must be some bloody good sides in the National League that’s all I can say. Really good Centre Forward play from Innes Cameron when he came on and looks like he’s been transformed. Will be a key target man for crosses. What a difference a loan spell and a bit of confidence makes.

[Barrow Lad New]

The Bluebirds remain unbeaten in pre-season friendlies with a convincing 2-0 victory over Blackpool, 125 years after their first meeting at the Strawberry Ground in September 1901.
Sporting this season’s black and white anniversary kit, and Blackpool their famous Tangerine, the committed performance gives confidence for our forthcoming league campaign, starting away at Hartlepool on 8th August.

The starting eleven were 1. Winterbottom, 2. Oakley, 4. MJ Williams, 7. Crankshaw, 9. Reid, 11. Walker, 22. Amos, 25. Kalambayi, 26, Harper, 27. Marriott, 33. Benjamin.
At half time Amos was replaced by 30. Jackson.
In the 57th minute. Crankshaw was replaced by 34.Whitfield.
In the 73rd minute, 18. Cameron and 6. Digue came on for Reid and Oakley.
Finally, 21.Earing replaced Marriott in the 80th minute.

Blackpool made a host more changes to their starting eleven as the game progressed including a triple change on the hour. However, at no stage of the game were the Bluebirds overawed and there were some superb blocks and confident saves when The Seasiders did have good attacking spells.

Barrow’s goals came in the 40th minute, Harper drilling the ball home from the edge of the area following a defensive mix-up and, in the 78th minute, Cameron heading home a Whitfield cross only five minutes after entering the field.

Ennis shot narrowly over Barrow’s goal in the 3rd minute following a cross from Hamilton. Five minutes later at the other end, Peacock-Farrell saved from Harper following a through ball from Walker. In the 12th minute, Ennis shot wide of the left post.

Winterbottom saved attempts from Anderson and Coulson in the 28th minute, while on the half-hour Peacock-Farrell saved well from Crankshaw. This Barrow effort followed a spate of shirt-pulling by the Seasiders which largely went unpunished.

However, following Harper’s 40th minute strike, we went into half-time with a 1-0 lead.

Ten minutes into the second half, an Ennis shot looped over the bar following a deflection.

Whitfield’s introduction upped our threat with some good crosses from the Barrow No.34. On the hour his free-kick was punched back into play by the goalie but then cleared.

The triple-change by Blackpool resulted in a period of resolute and effective defending. Winterbottom blocked a Charles effort in the 65th minute, Brown firing wide from the rebound.

Barrow’s double change in the 73rd minute proved more effective, Cameron heading home five minutes later.

In the 85th minute we nearly made it three when a quick defensive release by Winterbottom was latched onto by Cameron whose speculative lob went just wide of the left post. A Jackson shot was blocked three minutes later, and then Walker struck wide from distance, as we finished the game strongly.

Crowd was announced as 1,256 including 346 visitors but looked more!

Good performance but Pre-Season is about getting minutes into players some Blackpool fans not happy losing to a non-league club like some of our fans after we couldn't beat Radcliffe, hopefully everyone came through OK.

We played well and looked alright overall blackpool missed a couple of chances and looked abit sloppy they had 8 players injured and a few of young players just come through on according to steve banks blackpool keeper coach i spoke with there aims playoffs he said, its pre season but a good outing looked alot better than last season but that isn't hard. Im impressed with us getting forward with more intent, im hopefull for this season id like another forward if possible cameron did well i hope he can do something this season & reid looks alright i just hope rose finds his scoring boots also.
