Couldn't give a flying [SwearFilter] about peo leaving to be honest,
We'll get better I hope ! It's a new team new start so happy days
Some good and bad stuff on here about who will or won't come back
I trust our management and it's there job to get it right

3 conference teams that finished above relegated Barrow, therefor better teams.whitty1969 wrote:3 teams that just beat relegation ??? 2 have millionaire chairmen ?????Steeley wrote: Well Boyes Baker and Hurst have gone to better teams, fact.

Re: Players who've left us thread !
I completely agree with Barrowaberdeen's comments.. players are out of contract this season and even if they weren't they would have to weigh up other things. If there's better standard football then why wouldn't you want to join another team? I know many teams can hardly call themselves a class above, but in many cases players have gone to teams that are a league above and finished higher than us in this season (admittedly a dreadful one). At the same time, many players didn't get their wages on time, so if they're guaranteed to get their wage on time somewhere else, even at the same amount, then this is a factor that will persuade them to move. As we are relegated, the position we are in is not one to tempt players to stay with us. As it is, there'll be people offering more money and that's fair enough. There will also be teams that are simply more local for the players. Because of this locality, there won't be much difference between them playing part time for Barrow or part time for a club around the corner, which would be so much easier. I didn't listen, but it makes me understand how much of a club Barrow are for a player to come on the radio to say 'thankyou and goodbye'. We hear the story that he hasn't got in touch about a contract next year, but who knows the truth? I find it really professional that he went on the radio to do this and appreciate the five years he has spent at Barrow and will always remember his stronger performances (although apparently these are forgotten by many fans). We will find other players and come back as a strong team, even if it takes a couple of years. Let's just be optimistic about this new season, because it is a completely new team that we will see gel under Bayliss

At the same time, I'm not going to defend some players that were at Barrow and in football for the wrong reasons (Danny L Rowe to name just one - judging by simple things like his contributions to twitter). Even after a season of poor attitudes and a lack of professionalism for some, we've got to remember those that served Barrow so well. Those that are out of contract and are professional have still got to do what is best for them and in the majority of cases it will mean it's away from Barrow, which is obviously going to be hard for many fans. Anyone in a similar environment would be hunting for what is best for them too.

Re: Players who've left us thread !
I think the point being made is a "thanks but no thanks" reply to a message so there's no time wasted wondering if the offer is being taken up, or even considered, and then everyone can move on. Good manners in my book.

I cannot look back at any of them who have moved on and thought- we are going to miss him. None of them. Continue bringing in the new squad- with fresh energy and desire and a new approach. Bayliss needs to bring in these physically bigger players- I think we've been way too lightweight. Especially last season.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Saw that early on in the season, hope we don't make the same mistake twice. Need some bruisers in Conf North.
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.
