The bloke who used to own Salford is apparently interested in the Rugby. Lots of rumblings (and I live in Newcastle).

Let's hope he stays away from the football club then

General thoughts -

Loved his passion and ambition when he first arrived. He had a vision and it got us all excited.

But like many businessmen come football club owners he completely underestimated the complex nature of it all. I think he got tired of all the negatively and the money he was ploughing in didn't real any significant rewards.

Off the pitch I wanted more.

Whilst he didn't deliver on his initial vision or ambition he has left us in a better position. Much better position.

If he hasn't made those promises he couldn't keep we would all have been delighted with the last 5 years. The bottom line is we are much better much stronger than we were and for that, I thank him.

Are we really? How? Genuine question because I would beg to differ. The club is no more sustainable now than it was before he took over, he's leaving behind absolutely nothing in terms of structure or improvement in the way the club is run.

I was just thinking the same thing myself.

Think he's owed an apology personally.
Fully agreed. Got a lot of stick on here and look what has happened in the end.
I don’t think people necessarily disagreed with his opinions just with how he put it across, and the fact that he was a cretin.

The word at the time of the takeover was that the Keens had run out of money and there was, therefore, the possibility of us going under, so we are better off.

They could also probably see what Casson has seen, that running a football club takes far more money than people think. It appears that he is effectively writing off his debt of £3m so of course, we are better off.

Strange when only a few weeks ago they publicly stated they almost went bankrupt.

I think the ground is better. New floodlights and better pitch. The club house is better. On the field we are a league up. Agree off the field we don't seem to have progressed too much but I remember where we were when he took over and I genuinely think we are in a better position. We are certainly not worse off anyway.
