Bavid Dunn is interim manager at Blackpool. IE may be in the mix for the job but probably isn't favourite. Prising him away from a team vying for promotion at this this late stage of a apparently successful season isn't really feasible and would probably cause some avoidable damage to the reputation of both Blackpool and Ian Evatt himself. Something may or may not happen at the end of the season and this might be influenced by whether we did or did not achieve promotion.

Think that just about sums things up. Now can we please get back to what IE has advised us Barrovians i.e. that we "focus on the bigger picture" i.e. whether we can put all of this introspection, doubt and fear aside and actually achieve promotion because if we cant IEs destiny is far less relevant one way or the other.

I'll go along with that. I think doubt and fear sums it up. People are nervous. Understandable as it's been a long, long time since a Barrow team was in this position. As I said in another post, I think it's the feeling of being chased rather than chasing that's a new one to most who follow the club, that's fuelling these debates/arguments/swings between optimistic and pessimistic. Whatever's said, all we can really do is watch on and trust in Ian Evatt.

Everything you say is correct Marra. And being chased is so much more difficult than chasing.

Listening to the IE interview you can detect that despite indications to the contrary, IE does have moments of self-doubt and this beacon of positivity which he emits is actually something he's had to learn rather than be born with. When he tells others to focus, he's telling himself and his players to do that to. The strength of our run this season his been driven by unity and solidarity across the playing staff officials and supporters in maintaining belief.

We've reached the point in the season when all of this effort gets tested to the max. Player speculation, manager speculation, bus breakdowns, re-arranged fixtures and long journeys. Its all part of any season but at this particular point it sometimes feels like its been specifically designed to test our resolve. Like a long distance runner beginning to feel the "burn" as they head towards the last lap of the race.

Anything we can do however little to continue focus only on the prize and avoid deflecting into worry or anxiety whether this be inside or outside HS will assist in inching our way to success.

We haven't been part time for a long time
I meant compared to the likes of Blackpool. We haven't had the decades of professionalism (or the funds) to get "proper" professional systems in place and functioning seamlessly.Plus although full time, the club hasn't been professional to this level before, as in the fine details, GPS analysis, board interaction with fans/community etc. Maybe could've worded that better but the point i was really making was that what we find a breath of fresh air, is probably commonplace at a club like Blackpool and, in all probability, is where Ian Evatt gained all this insight and knowledge of managing and running a team.
Surely the words 'professional' and 'Blackpool' shouldn't be used in the same sentence, particularly under the Oyston regime.

Oyston free now and before the greed of Oyston Blackpool were very professional.

It was a good answer, though, Chris. Made me smile.

This is the bit that bothers me:

The Blackpool legend, who made over 200 appearances for the club as a player, would be interested in talking to the club.

Are they surmising? Do you know that for certain?

Don't forget a lot of the spadework is done by agents, who speak to the club and then speak to their client. The agent may also speak to the newspaper.

If I were IE I would be more than happy to speak to Blackpool. Manager of Blackpool versus Manager of Barrow. Only a fan would not see the advantages of it. IE has won nothing at BAFC yet and may never do so. So any prospect of a double leg up to a club he is intimately acquainted with must be very tempting against the mountain that still lies ahead for BAFC..

Where we may have been a little off-the-mark is assuming that when Grayson's job became available, Blackpool would immediately try and bring a lost "son" home. As is evident from the Gazettes ramblings, a League 1 club rarely will look for a new manager from 2 divisions below even if the Gazette thinks it might be a good idea and irrespective of whether we think he could do the job or not. They will instinctively favour a name or a known quantity. In the case of Blackpool it would appear the clear first choice is or has been Nathan Jones, a manager who a friend of mine from the Potteries recently described as the "totally out of his depth and the worst thing that has happened to Stoke City in decades". But of course that was in the Championship so he's bound to be the dogs bollo*ks a League below.

Have always thought that if Blackpool really wanted IE they'd appoint an interim to the end of the season and simply move in then. The problem for the Tangerines might now be they would be more inclined to favour IE if he had already attained promotion so the vacancy may have come a little too soon. But lets see. I'd love some football to talk about.

I have it on good authority that Blackpool want Nathan Jones as their number one choice and as it stands evatt is going nowhere.

.. So let's get back to winning ways tomorrow and start getting this league wrapped up
