Interesting game, I though the draw was about right.
Though we started very brightly, and a second might have killed the game.
As normal we concede and heads drop, Barrow deservedly took the lead.
Quigley better than Zanzal, on the day.
Too many of our players off the boil, but that was probably down to how Barrow were set up, as they stifled the life out of Patrick, Allessandra and Zanzala.
Brough a different player than when he was a Brunton Park, for the better I may add.
Your right back should have walked, very poor decision.
Definitely was a Penalty, although you gave the ref the option.
Ref very poor all round, for both sides I may add.
We probably could have got the win in the end, but it would have been unfair on our Southern neighbours.
I'm sure you'll stay up, and WE wont be going up (on that performance at least).
See you next season for a right old Cumbrian battle. (hopefully we'll all be there to watch it).
Toodle Pip.

If we got a point with that team, looking forward to Devitt, Platt and Davies back in the mix.
I would love to see at least one game with Platt, Davies and Thomas all together fully fit. Thomas has really really come along since those first couple of games
What happened to Scott Wilson anybody know ? I thought he showed a lot of promise what little I saw of the lad.

Honestly, listening to radio Cumbria down here in Manchester they are a joke in the sense they come across as so pro Carlisle. I switched it off a couple of times in the build up to the game because of their bias. Then came their managers view of the game. Think he's a scouser so all he does is moan and is so condescending towards "little Barrow" - "they are all six footers so they lump it up to Quigs" etc etc. On the point of our "narrow" pitch from the Carlisle forum I was reliably told by someone at the ground last summer that Holker St in the same dimensions as Anfield. Whether it is or not it definitely conforms to FA standards. Lastly, the word Cumbria! Carlisle, if I remember rightly, was in Cumberland. We Barrovian "colonists" settled in Lancashire. Get your facts right on the Carlisle forum please. Rant over on to Exeter who play in West Wales I believe!

Think he's among the Mace Goodridge, Bramall and Donohue crowd, in reserve "somewhere".

Ah so - Siberia?
Enjoyed it today, edgy and exciting if lacking in a bit of quality; I think we can give anybody a game in this league and pick up points. Same again Tuesday night will do for me.

Goodridge is injured and out for the season

And ........................breathe??
To be honest the pitch did look quite narrow on iplayer, but I suppose that is to do with the camera angle.
Beech is from Fleetwood near Blackpool.
Thought the commentators on both sides were actually pretty good, both praising and knocking each others teams pretty evenly.
And, I was born in Westmorland....what does that make me????

Those 3 are all part of the registered squad and at least Goodridge and Donohue injured. I think Wilson might be 'enjoying' life courtesy of HM Treasury.

It’s always great when we have a good result and people have to find something other than the game to moan about. Enjoy the point, enjoy survival, cheer up all!

One of the better games to watch this season, competitive, both sides wanting to win, bit of an edge as well. Draw was probably fair result as both sides had chances to win it. Quiggley & James best game as far as linking up went.
Exeter won 4-1 away today so could be a belter on Tuesday. Some of the posts early on were embarrassing, hope they don't call themselves "supporters"

Disappointed we didn't get the win but it's 1 point and 1 game closer to safety.

Who knows

Probably more East Wales but don't tell my friends in Shrewsbury.
As for Westmorland I loved that county. I also loved Cumberland my grandma was born in Cleator Moor but like many did as a young woman moved to Barrow for work with her family. I just don't really like the idea of Cumbria. for what it's worth, for me. Manchester & Liverpool are Lancastrian cities.
Lastly, perception is a funny thing. For me the build up just came across quite biased. It always feels to me that Barrow getting into the EFL is an intrusion onto Carlisle's "patch" so to speak. Granted we probably get better coverage being a Cumbrian side as there are only two EFL teams in the county as opposed to Lancashire where we would be competing with far more EFL teams.
I presume most young Barrovians consider themselves to be Cumbrian I guess & that is quite understandable. But I always like the fact that our coat of arms bears the red rose of Lancashire.
As I said it's all about perceptions.

Well for me I love Barrow been back in the Football League it certainly adds a bit of 'bite' to the season. But being a Carlisle fan for nearly 50 years it just makes me a bit sad that we are (and probably will be for some time) still in the 4th tier, especially with the potential we have.
Although born in Westmorland, and even if my home town 'Appleby-in-Westmorland' still carries the name I am now a Cumbrian through and through, (we're a much bigger and better County under the name), the most beautiful County in England..................bar absolutely NONE.

Listened to the away commentary today and stuck with it. Phillips is always ok towards Barrow and always speaks positively of his time commentating for us.
I really enjoyed it. An open game and a good battle between both sets of forwards and defenders and some talking points. Yes Eardley got lucky. Would have been an electric atmosphere with a full house so bring it on again next season.
