Just been speaking to the new Barrow AFC interim manager Phil Brown on his unveiling to the Media at Holker Street this morning
Here’s everything he had to say on his arrival at the club:

Good interview, interesting about the longer term training facilities locally, should help the team connect to the town more. Owners must have been frustrated at our position, given our top 7 budget. As he said, next 9 games might not be the beautiful game but it’s all about staying up and building planning for next season if he stays

I really hope I'm wrong, but there is something about him that I can't warm to. There are too many "if the truth be told", or "if I'm being honest". It's predictable soundbytes at this stage, who all things considered is an opportunist - out of work because he was poor, but now lucky to home in on Cooper's sacking. Definitely a watch this space in my opinion.

The biggest thing I was surprised about in that interview was that Holloway doesn’t train with us all week seen as he was supposedly the big saviour signing in January

Very much sounded to me on the interview with Adam that Brown has been told, or believes if we stay up then he will be offered the job longer term. As was mentioned above Brown knows exactly what to say to please fans in soundbytes imho, but so do second hand car salesmen…..

I really hope he’s a success, cos you know what, I really like the guy going on what I’ve seen so far. A breath of fresh air and personality, after the Cooper debacle.

I expect he’ll have a conv with the whole team and ask them why they think they are 4th bottom. They have to get that out early on.

Spot on Des, spot on.
All this nonsense about soundbytes, seems genuine enough to me. The man's being positive which is what we want.

The mans a charlatan of football. Everyones falling for the nice words and soundbites need to wake up.t He was assistant to Big Sam for years the master of soundbites. His record in management in the last four years has been disastrous. His standing in the modern game is seen as dinosaur like. The only saving grace this week is Neil Macdonald coming back. I wouldn't be against Macca being manager next season with someone like Danny Grainger. No way would I have Brown. Christ the man couldn't even get on the shortlist for a managers job in the Conference South this season.

The joy of being a director, damned if you do, damned if you dont, you could bring Pep or Klop in and people would find reasons why they shouldn't be here. I'm sure he will keep us up, slightly better situation than this time last year.
