Who is Gary Holt? What's his background like? Worth a punt?Bluebarrowman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 3:01 pmYeah can see your argument, but surely they can give some sort of guidance.Moribund wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 12:54 pm
Always with the meaningless stats. How many of those seasons have those three managers that you've cited been in the same division? I'm guessing not many.
Also the percentages don't mean a lot unless there's some context to who they were managing - to put that simply, a boss of Burnley with a win percentage of 35% is more impressive than a boss of Man City with a win percentage of 45%.
It gives no indication of the style of football, nor if they're capable of motivating a struggling bunch of players.
So to say those three are better than Cox because they had a handful more wins is just nonsense.
If you're using stats to decide who you want as boss, then you're naive at best.
So dont agree that they are meaningless.
Mills has taken a club York City back to football league, a target we want to achieve, so has experience, one of the favourites in the poll is Gary Holt who has no record at all.
I wasnt saying they were better than Cox, only stats were comparable.
Who would your choice be and why?
The Poll: Version 2 vote for your choice of manager

Ain’t gonna be Grant Holt. He’s signed for Kings Lynn.

Because you obviously have half a brain cell and also want your club to do the best through thick and thin. Dare i say a true supporter. Should have reasoned minds like yours on hereThenotorious wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 6:39 pm Why wouldn't i? I support the club. Just dont support alot of what the owners do.

Hate to say what I said last time round pre MM but Graham Westley is the man. Won't be pretty football but will knock a few heads together, won't take any crap from players, has a track record of finding rough diamonds and getting promoted out of the division and used to working with a 'challenging' chairman.

Certainly a pain in the backside and annoying when you are up against him but he certainly fights the corner of his team and turning us into a nasty team that nobody likes but yet gets results will do for me.paddy71 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 8:19 pm[SwearFilter] horrible man,no thanksBlueherts79 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 7:08 pm Hate to say what I said last time round pre MM but Graham Westley is the man. As they say it's a results game. MM was a nice guy but results were awful. Rather have it the other way round with Westley

Re: The Poll: Version 2 vote for your choice of manager
We require a proven manager with league experience and a direct no nonsense approach.
Our current squad are being paid very good money to do what many do for nothing as a sport.
They need a manager who will lead and knock them into performing.some need a push others require a kick. Fact of life in any business.
We need to see a barrow soccer team who go out on the field with a sense of what it means given our history and give their all and that bit extra. We've had teams like that before let's see such again please.

Keith Curle will be free in the summer
But then again give us our 50 grand back and you can have him tomorrow.

Find the number of people on here advocating direct no nonsense approach etc etc laughable. People complaining football isn't good enough and then want back what we had!
