Re: Travel next season
We must have made some money after you left then John as we had about £4000 in the bank account I believe. That can't have been made up from raffles as we only had the odd one, or membership money as I don't think there were huge numbers of members but I will stand corrected if there were.
Re: Travel next season
I seem to remember that was the correct figure, it seems to have been a well run setup.Holkerbird wrote:We must have made some money after you left then John as we had about £4000 in the bank account I believe. Re: Travel next season
I would hope that the travel could be discussed first as that is easiest for those attending the meeting to discuss this subject. I hope as many bus regulars as possible can make it.

That's unfair to the lads who have organised buses in past and are still working unpaid to get us to the games this seasonpaddy71 wrote:Yes,get the trainJonty wrote:Any decisions made for the travel next season?

Prices for coaches will be announced soon.Mark Mc wrote:Was at the meeting, and think it would be best served if Maybe Stu or Chris as the travel reps present at the meeting elaborate!Jonty wrote:Any decisions made for the travel next season?
Other issues regarding seperate travel membership will be voted on at the AGM.
We will endeavour to get a bus to every game.
There will be multiple ways of booking and paying to make it easier for people.

Is paying in kind an option?

Re: Travel next season
The meeting was conducted in a fairly positive manner with the Trust Committee re-iterating that they only want to try and get more people going to games and try and make things more organised than previously/make it easier to book buses as Chris mentions so that they could maybe advertise buses more in advance, put fliers out in the Cross Bar or at the turnstiles etc but to try and work on a month by month basis with regard to booking and hopefully advertising the buses and the cost.Jonty wrote:Any decisions made for the travel next season?
Stu is gonna speak with Neil Clarkson about cost and what games he may be able to run buses to and if possible get the 35 seater with a toilet for all the longer distance trips, as for most games down south its unlikely there will be many more travelling than that. However for other trips where more are likely to travel then a bus from somewhere else will be needed. Its also likely that the prices of buses will have to rise due to the increased Travel costs from having to hire buses from companies other than Clarksons and the fact we are now travelling a lot further than we were previously.
With this in mind many of the regular travellers felt that an extra buffer/fund was needed for buses on the long trips that are likely to lose money and will need to be either part or fully subsidised in order that more of these buses can run. With that in mind a discussion about a separate membership fee was discussed and a proposal has been submitted for the Trust AGM for an additional Trust Travel Membership of £10 which is solely for the Trust Travel in the above circumstances with Trust Travel members receiving discount on the buses (people would have to be both a Trust & Trust Travel Member to receive the discount). The separate fee was proposed - so its clear that existing Trust Members aren't subsidising the Travel as it was felt that the Trust already provides many benefits for the existing membership fee of £10.
As its the Trust AGM next month the proposal had to be submitted pretty much there and then, due to the notice period required for the AGM, so there was little time for discussion with others about this, which I hope will be supported at the Trust AGM on 6th August simply so that more buses can be run to away games. The additional membership fee has been proposed by Tony Lewis (bobbymoore on here) and seconded by myself. In addition to the membership fee there will also be a few raffles on the buses with profits raised also going towards subsidising loss making buses that wouldn't otherwise run if it weren't for the additional income.

Re: Travel next season
I see Dover fans are paying £37 to come here in August. That's a good price.
They also have a bus lottery the winner gets discount in next bus.
I will be very happy if I pay £37 to get to Dover
