You don't see many cases of the shits spreading to every corner of the world...
Looks like our league will carry on then - subject of course to opposition players not crying off and their club being allowed to postpone the match. I have a feeling that might happen in most of our remaining games!Jim wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 6:00 pm This is a view from Simon Stone on BBC Sports. A lot of possibly and could be, but it's an attempt to answer some questions:

It probably will come - the travel one should be quickly implemented.prague bluebird wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 6:59 pm Reading some of of the posts on this thread, I find them truly amazing that some people are treating this situation as a trivial matter.
Here in Czech we have all shops closed apart from food shops, all pubs restaurants, sports activities and culture events are also closed. We cant even leave the country. I am guessing similar measures may be applied soon in the UK, SO BE PREPARED.

All flights, boats and trains across the channel will be stopped.
Anyone trying to get round the ban and illegally enter the country will be quarantined and then either jailed or deported.
It would be difficult to enter or leave Czech Illegally at the moment, there are only limited flights to places such as Russia (who wants that) and the army is on the border.

Some on here still displaying unbelievable ignorance to this and that in some way players / clubs are “crying off”. Go and and look at the post above yours from Prague Bluebird.barrowfan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 7:35 pmLooks like our league will carry on then - subject of course to opposition players not crying off and their club being allowed to postpone the match. I understand why it's been called off but you raise an interesting point in the second paragraph, myself and a few others at work have self isolated after presenting symptoms but everyone else carried on at work on Friday in spite of obviously being in contact with us, I personally feel it's because the government advice has been too lax so far, in my profession at least where we can work from home easily we should have made the decision at least a week ago, we're playing catch-up desperately at the moment.Jim wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 8:37 pm As a global problem it is massive and very serious. Things may become dire here. However, one player quite correctly isolating himself in case he has the virus is a sensible precaution but not in my opinion a valid reason to call off a match.
As I said in another thread, if every business took that approach, the whole country would grind to a halt. For example, if one of the staff at your local supermarket has a cough and a temperature, and self-isolates, should it close - bearing in mind that there is far more probability of the other staff in a supermarket infecting people than there is of the Wrexham football team doing so?
If the predictions that it will get worse in roughly 6 weeks are correct then it will be a lot later then June fixtures are being played. Which in itself brings a lot of issues with it re contracts/loans etc. This will cause absolute chaosandyg wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 10:43 pm My belief is and it depends on so so many factors is that if the league can be suspended and we can kick off again sometime maybe in late April/early May or perhaps later crowds will be good even for teams with nothing to play for therefore it will help revenues etc etc. Better to watch Barrow on a pleasant June evening than on a windy rain swept February night. Plus the pitches will be good and conducive to out playing styleSorted!
