Decisions being made
Re: Decisions being made
Theres no way clubs will want to sit on this over another weekend.
Tomorrow surely.
Tomorrow surely.

He’s only reporting facts and that is if this doesn’t pass then they will have to start again and look at all options, we might not like that option but it’s an option.
Personally as harsh as this framework is on the leagues below I think it has just enough to pass

Re: Decisions being made
I don't think they.ll start again I would imagine they.ll ask the clubs for suggestions of slight alterations to their plan and then offer them as options in a vote, for example, there may be a movement to relegate Fylde and Ebbsfleet and promote York and Havant instead possibly offering 3 options but I can't see null and void being brought back as one of those options unless a good proportion of the votes called for that to happen.Adam29 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 6:32 pmHe’s only reporting facts and that is if this doesn’t pass then they will have to start again and look at all options, we might not like that option but it’s an option.

Re: Decisions being made
The unfortunate thing is Deadly that we've all known since the FA scrapped promotion out of Step 3 that it was inevitable that there was going to be a stitch up somewhere along the line. For many, many weeks we feared it might be at our expense and then since the EFL got to grips with their season I suspected that it might be at your expense. Fortunately, if that is the right word, the guillotine seems to have fallen just on the right side for yourselves and Kings Lynn.deadly wealdstone wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 4:53 pm Overall it is good news for Barrow, Kings Lynn and Wealdstone.
Barring a massive turn-around, our respective clubs will be promoted.
However, the whole process leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.
It is the most disgusting last-minute stitch-up I have seen in many a year.
Using the Government directive and distorting it to their own ends to not have full promotion and relegation between the National and the North & South Divisions.
Even if the play-offs were not possible, PPG should be used to promote the second-placed clubs.
It really does seem that the National is a real-life Animal Farm:
'All Clubs are equal, it's just that some clubs are more equal than others.' as Napoleon might say.
This is not the NLs doing. It is quite obviously the decision of the FA as was their decision to void Step3 and below, and fully explains their presence today. Using the HMG guidelines and classifying Step 2 as non-elite is akin to redefining what professional football is and is not. Its pretty brutal, like using a baseball bat to crack a walnut. But it left nobody in any doubt as what the required decision was. My experience of the FA is they dont do compromise. Making life difficult for the FA is also something that you do at your peril.

Re: Decisions being made
I got this reply from Mark Turner the club secretary at Accrington Stanley last week about the FL AGM situation
" Some bits of sense NS, but not 100% correct
The EFL AGM was never going to be in Portugal. For some reason the hotel couldn't do our date. ( last Wednesday to yesterday)
We were using a base in the UK. That was cancelled in March
We're having the "official" AGM (on-line) in mid June.
At present squad salary cap hasn't been finalised as all are concentrating on the exact plan to finish this season.
Agree that, hopefully players will be realistic on new deals, but hearing stories that some players are still not understanding there is no money!!"

We are not far off mid June!

And I think that's why the NL will have to make a quick decision and then give the FL the assurances they need about a restart to enable them to confirm the relegation of the bottom club But that's certainly the day that Barrow will be confirmed as members of the football league.

Re: Decisions being made
To add further meat to the bones:
Each National League side will have 1 vote each (24 votes in total)
National League North is worth 4 votes overall
National League South is worth 4 votes overall
The winning majority is 17 votes
If 17 national league clubs vote in favour of the framework then it will pass regardless how North and South vote

Re: Decisions being made
Final paragraph of this Guardian article on the EFL suggests we will have to wait to Monday. No source for this info:
National League clubs will vote on Monday on whether to curtail the season via the points-per-game formula. If the vote is passed as expected, Barrow will be promoted and six teams will contest the play-offs as normal, though the final is set to be away from Wembley on the recommendation of the Football Association, owing to the expense. One club is thought to be reluctant to partake in the play-offs given the cost of testing, estimated to be more than £100,000 per club. There would be no play-offs in the National League North or South but the leaders on PPG – Kings Lynn and Wealdstone – stand to be promoted.

Re: Decisions being made
Monday is announcement day - the clubs have until then to register their votes
There’s probably a 5% chance of it going through tomorrow but you know fine well that some clubs will scrape their heals along the floor and leave it till the last second

Re: Decisions being made
Surely clubs won't want to push for null and void, it would further alienate non league from the EFL and give them a good reason to shut the door completely.
In terms of numbers, top 7 surely voting in favour? Add the 3 avoiding relegation that are in the bottom 4, so there is 10 hopefully
Mid table teams arguably just want it over with so may be in favour.
Not sure how the votes work for north and south, most clubs must have little interest either way?

Re: Decisions being made
North and South is worked by %
So if all 22 North clubs vote yes then that’s 4 votes etc
