We need a complete new midfield, and what do we do ? Give an extended contract to one of our failed midfielders , we need new players and we need them NOW .

Most telling note of the day was the first minute of commentary from Southend that they had finally “found a way” to get results and noted that Barrow appeared to setting up as they had done all season and “look where they are with this approach” absolutely nailed it with that comment.
If he doesnt “find a way” for us we are going down no question.
This is exactly what my Southend supporting mate has just said. Too much sideways need to be more ambitious going forward.

The way they played today this side would be bottom of the National League. Major surgery needed...and a few lessons on the basics of football.

We definitely didn’t look fired up! Not one bit.
I think you mistake not looking fired up for shot on confidence. Let a stupid opening goal in then struggle and you knew how they'd play after going down to 10 men. Because we only have one natural striker in the club and lack midfield creativity we are unable to unlock these type of defences at this level. I fear the worst - not sure Jolly has the time to turn this around. Hope I'm wrong.

Can we start suggesting a null and void season

That was terrible. Missed most of the first half from 10 minutes due to iFollow giving me a blank screen, second half, wished I hadn't got the picture back, playing sideways, against bottom of the table 10 men, never threatening, lot of blatant time wasting. Looks like I might save next year not having to get iFollow, will miss the pictures but will be able to listen to Barrow again on BBC RC as they go around the grounds.

Happy to be disagreed with, but to me it almost looks like they're caught between playing the patient, passing game of last season and a more direct, wide approach. As a result, we seem to pass sideways and backwards for a while before firing an aerial ball forward to the wings or the front men when we can't create anything via the midfield trio. All the possession, ultimately, results in very little. Even the awful commentary duo spotted that we're a tidy passing side that struggles to produce goals.

Credit to Southend.... they have had an embargo lifted and stolen 14 points from the last 21, I don't see them being bottom, but we need to show some absolute balls to the wall fight and Barrovian grit to secure and solidify our leauge status! I think if we dissect and build on we will be a fighting team, I genuinely do! But we need signings and departures FAST, its urgent with the upcoming games.

Well it's his useless signings that we are stuck with, a load of dross, not one of his many signings have improved the team

Just because we won the league with him there doesn't make Kay a left back. Rather see him further forward.
I agree without Barry we look disjointed when we play this system but I have this feeling that a few in our team still feel unhappy with Dunn going ,so these need weeding out there's something terribly wrong with some of the players attitudes !

I got the impression that, under Rob Kelly, we played a bit more long ball, which seemed quite successful.

Passed the ball around far too much without doing anything with it.Nobody on the end of half the crosses. We definitely need a stronger midfield. The current players aren't assertive enough when they get the ball.We will never score goals playing this way.The manager needs to find better players who can play through the middle and be in the box when crosses are coming in.We need players similar to John Rooney.
