We have had longer topics on banners in the past but definitely for a single flag and it’s not up yet so plenty more pages yet!
Kellys heroes flag holker street end

Re: Kellys heroes flag holker street end
It seems to me if you want to make an impressive statement from the fans to the players, then the "Kelly's Heroes" flag in the main stand would stand out more than one of a number in the Holker St end - impressive though they are. Surely, the players will be able to see it in the main stand, though at an angle, and would certainly be aware of it as silent support for their grit and determination.

Just stick it on that new fence round the fanzone to the side of the goals at the crossbar end; the players won’t miss seeing the bugger then
Re: Kellys heroes flag holker street end
An update- We expected to have the flag up in time for the game on Saturday and that was very much the plan, however, there has been a polite request from the club to “hold off” from displaying the flag at present. Without too much detail I think this falls somewhere between keeping the focus on a job to do and not being there yet.
I guess we have to respect the wishes of the club on this one.

Fair enough, still 13 cup finals to go and Rob Kelly keeps mentioning taking it one game at a time and not getting ahead of ourselvesJonty wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 8:22 pm An update- We expected to have the flag up in time for the game on Saturday and that was very much the plan, however, there has been a polite request from the club to “hold off” from displaying the flag at present. A bit daft in my opinion. It's a bloody flag.Jonty wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 8:22 pm An update- We expected to have the flag up in time for the game on Saturday and that was very much the plan, however, there has been a polite request from the club to “hold off” from displaying the flag at present. Aye there's no mystery. Going to have a wee chat with Rob tomorrow to see when he wants it unleashing. As said above, Rob's very much focused on one game at a time and the next couple of home games are pivotal to see where we are at.
One thing I do know (well you all do if you watch the interviews) is how much he appreciates all the support from everyone.

Who is making the decision whether to accept the club’s polite request?
Re: Kellys heroes flag holker street end
If you made a polite request to someone not to fill your toaster in your kitchen with peanut butter, would you feel it was up to them to accept your request?

Very [SwearFilter] poor. Fans do something positive that everyone is behind and it’s thrown back.
Disappointed.

Yes. If they refused, then it would no longer be a polite request, and I would restrict access to the toaster and the kitchen.
I imagine they would be annoyed if they had included me in a 204 message long e-mail chain regarding raising hundreds of pounds to buy a special jar of peanut butter to fill my toaster, only for me to to politely request they don't fill the toaster after the jar had been purchased. They would probably think I was taking the [SwearFilter] out of them and refuse my polite request.
Re: Kellys heroes flag holker street end
I understand the logic but it’s a flag showing fans appreciation surely this should be encouragement for the team? Bit poor from the club imo when people have donated towards it
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it
