What I like about Wild is when he said, more than once, that his players don't only have to be good players, they have to be good people as well.

I came over for 3 games in March as I seriously worried we were doomed & probably struggle to get back because there’s soooo much money in the National League & so many bigger clubs down there & didn’t want to die without ever seeing us in the League.

I also thought if we employ Brown we would go down next season, But with Wild I think we will be good enough to finish lower mid table & with the right backing do even better the following season……BUT IMHO it’s up to us to back Wild & the BoD financially, So let’s do more, buy more merch, buy a ST, attend games earlier & stay later & spend, This could be the launchpad we are waiting for.

Whilst i would love to finish lower mid table next season, I think if we go out with that remit then we will be in for a struggle.

I think they did want Brown at first but I think there will have been a big stumbling block around player recruitment and contracted players that weren’t in his plans. There would have been an impasse there for sure. Wild says he wants two for every position- 25 man squad- not difficult to work out where these players positions will be targeted when you consider who is still contracted for next season, so he may be hamstrung as to where he can bring players in. One or two aside, I still think the best players we have are players that came up from national League with us so recruitment has to be better. Im sure Wild will be a good fit for us but better recruitment is crucial if we are to improve, no matter who is the manager

I was told 10 days ago that all was agreed with Brown over his contract, money and length etc and the issue that arose was the way Brown was planning to deal with the players who were contracted that he didn't want to use which probably meant he wanted their costs taken care of outside of the actual playing budget until they were disposed of [ something that happens more often than you might imagine ] but with the numbers involved i.d say Hornby took one look at the cost of that and said " Whoa hold on a minute "

For what its worth on the face of it Wild doesn't look like a bad appt but from what I understand Wild isn't really a disciplinarian [ and I have to say he doesn't look like he is ] and that was what cost him getting the Oldham job permanently on both occasions and it was Millington who took on that side of the role at Halifax so not getting him as part of the deal may turn out a big mistake and with that in mind maybe they should have interviewed them as team.

More than likely that he could see the writing on the wall for the club when he resigned as it was 12 months into the club being owned by Abdallah Lemsagam and Wild was there in another capacity when he took ownership of the club. Paul Scholes only lasted seven games and on leaving he cited interference from the owner as the reason.The same owner who has overseen their demise this season to National League.

From the two or three interviews that I've heard so far with the new manager it seems he's very partial to the use of the term "in the building". He seems to have said it so many times that it's quickly become lodged in my head. All I can say is that in due course, when the time comes, we can say "the KING has left the building" (after steering us to promotion and moving on to a "better" post - - - if there can be such a thing as a better post than Barrow). It would be good because "king" is not a term fitting for every manager that leaves us.

We can but dream.

In the same vein : To be fair, if the truth be told, at this moment in time, Broon repeatedly put his own spanner in the works when he crossed that white line to try and win a game of football, it’s as simple as that, there’s no doubt about it, by any stretch of the imagination.
