I've said before on here I took 33-1 on relegation the first year back as it looked overpriced, and I could have a nice holiday to take my mind off it a bit if the worst happened. It got as low as 8-1 before some surprise results including Forest Green thankfully turned it round.
I think someone said on here earlier that we are 100-1 to be relegated, so you may want to have a punt on that. ;)

I assumed that was out of date but it isn't and I have. I guess it may not be available for long.

The Board have been really committed to the club.
We have a tendency at appointing past stars,Clemence,Dunn,Brown.
I think as financially astute as they are they are naive when it comes to appointments.
The best Managers we had were those who were hungry.
Vic Halom, who will have had nothing like the financial rewards other well known Managers had,the two Daves and Evatt
Yesterday's game too many people on that pitch demotivated.
Mahoney ducked out of challenges ,Aquah for a big man is abysmal, pushed of the ball cannot jump.
We need more like our new midfielder hungry ,Gotts did not shirk from challenges,,Canavan was his usual good self and vassels worked hard and Spence did ok the rest can go.

If we are not relegated it won't because Clemence saved us it will be because there are two worse teams below us.
It happened in the Conference in the last day we played a Chester youth team at Holker St they had financial issues and had no first teamers
We beat them we stayed up but we got beat .
Lucky the game between Dover and Woking went in our favour again at all odds and we stayed up by default.
The Board might be letting Clemence run his contract down to pay him.less when he goes

On the board we need someone who's played the game to a decent level who at least can have some involvement in footballing decisions, we had Mark Hetherington but he left for reasons ( which I know but can't for obvious reasons share on here) John Goodwin would be a good choice infact I'd love both Mark and Goody join because I think our present board are giving too much power to Wood which is dangerous because if it's solely down to him and he gets it wrong!!!!!!

We landed lucky with Evatt, we had a punt on him and gave him a chance and he had everything we needed to lift the club. I don’t think there was any head hunting involved, he was new to Management and we were throwing the dice again. You could do that 20 more times again before things lined up.

He has already got it badly wrong but the Board made such a song and dance about it when they appointed him I don’t think they can back down now.

Getting rid of Clemence would be a good start but no doubt they are being ‘advised’ not to do so.

It’s never been revealed why Wild left but it wouldn’t surprise me if he thought that Wood was bringing in players that Wild thought aren’t good enough.

Yep and we are forever trying to recreate that Evatt mould

We’ve had nearly 3 months of poor football and lack of results. The fans are getting less interested by the game and everyone know we don’t have what it takes.

Players have been poor but sometimes it’s not helped by the management. There is no need to drag this out for another 3/4 games nothing is going to change.

Time to go

There’s no way on this planet SC can continue he’s lost the fans and dressing room.
It’s fairly easy really: can anyone see the current management/players going away from home and getting an unexpected win like Accrington did yesterday?
I absolutely can’t
After yesterday's abysmal performance, those players surely have to put one he'll of a shift in this Saturday at Port Vale.
Our best performance was in the game against them here.
Port Vale only managed 5 draws from 8 games before winning at Doncaster yesterday.
If we put a shift in, we should come back with something, maybe even that elusive 3 points.

I see your point but isn’t it worth giving a chance to a young up and coming prospect who’s done well, perhaps at a lower level, than someone just looking to extend their run on the gravy train?

They will get it wrong. All Football Clubs at every level will bring in Managers and players with every good intentions and it doesn’t work out. It’s knowing whether to stick or twist and sometimes that decision is driven by constraints - largely financial.

You're right Hornby and Co are obsessed with attacking football that only works at this level if the team press high and play with high energy we haven't the players for this so why are we still thinking this will work? Solid back 4 , 4 in midfield ( diamond) 2 up front preferably hard workers ( at least).
We have to go back to basics this 3 at the back is suicidal you could tell how we started we hadn't had the time to play this system so why did Clemence and co persevere until they were forced to change it ,if the board can't see what's wrong we're F****d !

It’s a balance of risk, ambition and financial constraints. It took 48 years for the stars to line up. It’s equally likely a young up and coming Manager could flop. Then the viewpoint would change again to “we need an old battle scarred” manager. The first thing to have is a footballing vision :identity for the club. Without that you go from one style to the next with the revolving management door. Hoofball to triangles : rinse and repeat.

Jonty Clemence had no management experience ( as Dunn) Gillingham got rid ! come on surely what basis was he appointed on apart from Wood talked to him at Gillingham and he told Paul Hornby he wanted to play exciting football it's like the equivalent of buying a bag of magic beans and that was a fairytale 😉
