Probably me, as I haven't been down there for 2 weeks due to the gout and then Danielle getting knocked down by a taxi--not his fault I might add, but when I called in yesterday no cleaning etc had been done since I was last there that I could see.
I will be going down tonight, tomorrow and Saturday to get it ready for the dancing troupes on Sunday.
Then I will carry on until Mr Casson takes over and can appoint someone then I will be resigning. I stood in when we couldn't afford a cleaner but with what is planned it is going to be more or less a full time job and I am 72 and it is too much for me.
I have enjoyed my time down there and I will be checking that it is being done to my satisfaction in the future. I hope today I have bought my last toilet rolls------ over and out.

And true to her word, Elaine was down there while me & Tommy were working on the ST office.
It'll seem very strange doing jobs down there & not hearing the Holkerbird singing (I've heard Chris Packham will be investigating)
I have to admit, it's never seemed right Elaine being in the ground all on her own, tonight was a perfect example as if me & Tommy hadn't been there another person wouldn't have been within quarter of a mile of her which is a bit worrying - and I told her that.

The cleaning team is a team of one Ian.
I didn't particularly want to be there as I am nursing Danielle at home now and other family matters but those toilets were an absolute disgrace and had to be cleaned ready for the dancing on Sunday.I would be ashamed if the families had to use them as they were. There will be kids around and the porta toilets by the stand had broken glass all over the floor from the mirror that has been smashed. There's still some of it attached to the wall and that isn't safe with kids around.
The toilet seat in the disabled toilet has been split in half as well. I managed to fix two of the cisterns that wouldn't flush.
Who the hell is Chris Packham?

Thanks to Bennyfromormsgill for the donation of seven unopened packs of laminate flooring & the plastic membrane that goes underneath them for the BST office. Really helpful offer which will go towards making the office look very smart & quite professional.
Still after a plastic window if anyone is getting any replaced, not too fussed about sizes as it's for an internal wall & we can cut the stud partition wall to suit.

Weedbusting and terrace clean up. Volunteers required......
Over the next few Sundays (when the GMA lads are in) would anyone like to volunteer to help get stuck into some terrace weeding and general ground clean up- main stand seats wash, bog hose down etc. Not the nice stuff but it all needs doing.
get in touch (pm) and we'll set some Sunday mornings aside. The more that help out the quicker this gets done!

We'll be spending a couple of hours at the ground tomorrow from 4:30pm which will be in the BST office. We've got two jobs we could do with a bit of help on - one is laying laminate flooring & the other is hanging an internal door, both not big jobs but it'll allow us to carry on in the bigger, main part of the office.
If anyone can give us a hand with either of these can you drop me a pm, or just a reply on here will do.

With the friendlies fast approaching we're running out of time to have the BST office up & running. We spent three hours down there last night & completely emptied & stored the office of all the BDF stock & programs, we also made a start on laying the laminate flooring, replaced an internal door & put some of the doors on the units under the counter.
There's still a LOT to do though. Can anyone spare a few hours in the coming week day or tea time? It's simple job but it's going to hold us up otherwise, we need the internal walls painting, it's nothing fancy & there's no skirting boards or window sills as they'll all be replaced with plastic so no cutting in to do.
This is your Supporters Trust office & a place that will become very important in the coming years, all the lads who are involved behind the scenes with setting up the BST are busy doing just that - putting all the correct legal & groundwork things in place.....which is a lot of work so we could do with a little "outside" help if possible.
If you can help us out, can you either PM me or reply on here & we'll sort out getting access & materials for you.

Thanks to Billy Blue for the donation of the window for the BST office. I know we asked for.......well, basically any size as we could cut the stud partition wall to suit but the window we got was pretty much perfect
The window is now in the office & will be fit next week.
Still after someone to do a spot of filling screw holes & painting in the BST office either over the weekend or Monday/Tuesday. Looks like we'll be busy on Monday storing the new lights for the floodlight pylons so that knocks Monday off for us - even more important that we get some help with the painting.

Just on the off chance, if anyone could stop off at the ground on the way home from work to give us a hand - the new lights have arrived & need storing in the GMA.
There's three of us going down but I've no idea how big these are & Jamie wasn't certain either.
We'll be there at 4:15pm. It should only take half an hour.

Great response to that last post & Jamie sent his thanks with the offer of "it's his round when next here" he's now moved lock stock & barrel back to Scotland & left his debt with Barrowaberdeen
Fantastic that a post for help can go on the forum at 3:45 & people turn up within 30 minutes.
When we turned up Gareth & his mate were watering the newly seeded area's of the pitch, which are now looking pretty good.
Thanks to Mark Mc, Barrow abc, Tommy & bolyliegladbach - between us we moved 20 of the new lights & their brackets & stored them in the GMA.
Barrow abc, Tommy & myself then carried on in the BST office. Barrow abc filled holes etc, Tommy was cutting the interior wall for the fitting of the new window, I cut some plastic skirting boards & window sills to cover up the wooden ones that have thirty coats of blue on them.
Good few hours down there really.

Does this mean we ARE refurbishing the pylons, or could the new lights be still fitted
to new poles/pylons?
