As mrssenorita mentions above, there will be a visit to the ground this coming Sunday morning for anyone interested.

As usual there's plenty to do for all levels of skilled or less skilled people, if you fall into the first category you get the nice clean jobs with me, if however you slot nicely into the second - you get the pleasurable experience of spending the morning with mrssenorita or Tommy 9 Toe's (the supporter formely known as Barrowabc)

There's some unit fitting in the BST office to complete.
Still after a plumber for some very basic plumbing.
Even though the flooring is now finished in the press box :D there's still other jobs to do in there.
I suppose there'll be plenty of rubbish lying around so ther's another job.
Painting.

9:00 am - turnstile "C"

We'll probably spend the first two hours talking about the demolishing of Hyde the previous day.......hopefully!

Many thanks to barrow fan chris and Ryan, aka bahamas bluebird, (yes he's here again but from Qatar this time) for volunteering to help me yesterday. It is a quick turn round when we have a Tuesday night match and then a home game on Saturday and their help was invaluable.
As usual Tony Johnson had beaten us to it and had almost finished his thankless task of litter picking and weeding by the time we got started. I think he must be classed as the night shift. Oh,thought just crossed my mind, it's not him living in the press box is it?
A valuable worker who quietly gets on with it without looking for any recognition.A big thank you.

Lots of work going on with the floodlights yesterday and today with the cherry picker deployed.
Gareth and Craig working hard on the pitch which is looking excellent.
We have a new Vanaman (?) flag which was originally delivered to the rugby ground first.
Did anyone hear that Vanaman jingle on Tuesday night? Give me strength.

If anyone see's a lad hobbling around answering to the name of Tommy nine toes can you let us know he's ok? last officially noted at summat past midnight posting about some female boxer ;)

Work in the press box got back under way with the joinery team of Ian RVJ & Pete Nichols re-united. They spent the morning sorting the mess out our senior planner had left it in! apparently mrssenorita had put up some back cladding that wasn't pleasing to the "carpenters eye" never mind the ex-welders eye!
My flooring never got mentioned, so I'm taking that as meaning "what a cracking job Ian, worthy of some film stars gaff" that should please a certain owner who has taken an unhealthy interest in that flooring

Mrssenorita carried on in the BST office quite oblivious to the slating he was getting. He managed to put up a kitchen work top with some units below & above (not fixed in position yet) Everything seemed level this time as the microwave hadn't rolled off
He also managed to fit the door handle & tidy a few bit's & bob's up.
If there seems to be some stock missing in there it's because of Tommy's rule of one screw in - one lion bar out!

Myself & Exile spent three hours clearing the GMA which seems to have become a dumping ground again, four barrow loads of rubbish were thrown in the skips with more to follow.
I swear if the people who use the dance boards throw them in there the way they've thrown the wooden rope holders back, we'll be making one BIG donation to Vickers sports club's bonfire night of anything that resembles something that can be danced on.
That's two years on the trot now this has happened!!

Jonty made an appearance doing a spot of cleaning & litter picking before promptly ruling himself out of lifting some breeze blocks that we were shifting, apparently anything bigger or heavier than a bucket with some bleach in isn't for him

Nice to recieve a call off Jamie thanking us for being down there. Interesting to hear his views on the gates & games so far, he also said he enjoyed his little roam around the ground yesterday talking to supporters....wonder if that'll become a regular thing?
I mentioned how with the increase in attendances the queues are building up for a pint at H/T (it went from the bar to the top of the stairs yesterday) I also mentioned some clubs have pre-ordered & pre-paid drinks lined up so I think he's going to look into that.

10/10 to mrsesnoritta for getting out of a Christening to be with us today - good effort mate.

I was asking if this would be an option ordering the drinks beforehand (as in the theatre tradition) but snowdog said it had been tried before and was a shambles with people just grabbing any drinks.
It would have to be carefully monitored but it would be good if it could be implemented.

Good idea Ian re beer we were talking about this as well. You just pay in advance, get a raffle ticket or summat, then when you come up it's matched to the order, thereby taking out the ordering/paying etc, I've seen that done at Carlisle and other places.

You could get some cheap trays, place a completed order with number on each one. The only thing is that there's no space to put the orders themselves behind that bar, so you'd have to have some separate tables, probably where the players eat pizza, and a member of staff swapping tickets for trays, as it were.

Wouldn't it be simpler if they poured 15-20 of the popular lager and bitter etc just before half time so that when the rush comes its all ready and still fresh?

I was thinking along the lines of doing away with queues for paying for drinks as much as possible Frazer. If thirty people pre-ordered/paid & they just wander up & collect, that just leaves the bar to serve any others that just decide to wander up for a pint.
Club will make more money (which is obviously what they want) less people will go to the soccer bar for a swift one & we get more time to enjoy our pint.

I mentioned to Jamie if the gate is a big one on Bank Holiday it might put people off going up, so even though short notice I wonder if they'll look at something to trial for that game?
